I'd offer him a 3 year with the third year voidable. That way if he continues to play well and show his injuries are over, he can void the final year and get a better deal in free agency.

I really hope we get this done, i'D prefer something over two years because we can always cut him now a days. Our line on paper would be nasty:) . Adams-Kosier-Gurode-Davis-Colombo= some Angus.

That'd be about 3.5 to 4 mill a year. I wouldn't be shocked - that's about what Stichcomb got money-wise - more in bonus though
Yeah, making half of what the guard next to you makes, when you had a pretty good year is somewhat embarassing. Now if those numbers were over a 5 year contract and were on the higher end, closer to $5 million per year, it'd be a more palatable.

I agree that the longer he doesn't sign, the more likely he stays with Dallas. I think he probably overestimated how much he could get. I don't have a problem with it, from either point of view. He wants to gets as much as possible because of his injury problems and Dallas isn't ready to sign him long term because of those injury problems.

Like I said, a short deal to prove that he is healthy and good, then one last big contract to finish his career. thats the way I would look at it if no one was throwing Dockery money at me.

If Marc doesn't like the contract tell him to send it my way, 3.5 million a year would suit me just fine.

I'd be angry too see the person next to me make twice as much.

The guy next to him has played and started 91 of 96 games in the league

Colombo on the other hand has only played 39 out of 80 games since he has been in the league starting only 23 of those

sounds about right. didn't the Saints offer the same to Jon Stinchcomb? Very similar players and careers.

Stinchcomb got a two-year deal for $7 million, including a $4 million signing bonus.

All I want is the money, as Steve Miller said, take the money and run.

I didn't ask for playing time, just a contract, get it straight boy.:D

I'm pretty fast, i might leave a urine trail in the pros but that would just be my body getting rid of extra ballast so I can run even faster and survive.

You would leave more then just a urine trail, that is for sure!

Again it's just ballast, but if it were more than liquid you could consider it counter measures to slow the defenders down.

I'm not convinced that Colombo is the priority that we all think he is.

Surely, they'd like to have him back for the right price, but I'm not convinced that the Cowboys think he's as irreplaceable as we seem to think he is.

Maybe they expect him to have some competition for the spot regardless. This will be interesting, but one thing's for sure...if he walks, I think it will be because the Cowboys didn't value him as much as some fans do.

I hope he's back, but I'm not going to be too upset if the Cowboys refuse to up the ante and he goes elsewhere...it would simply mean we weren't really counting on him 100% to begin with.

Maybe I should play for Cleveland to blend it in with my uniform.
