We need to hear from you soon. Now we all know what 3-4 ends roles are in the defense, but we need to see something soon. Did they play Sunday?

now this is a post, not the mandatory *****ing

these guys definitely need to step up, BP has only been telling us that

Don't be so sure of that.

It has been awhile since I heard their names called when I think about it. Maybe they are in a sophmore slump or something:confused:

Yep, Spears and Canty definitely need to pick it up considering the expectations coming into the season. Spears has been alright this year, but he should be paying at a much higher and more consistent level as a 1st round pick. Canty has been very disappointing so far this season. He really has done next to nothing up to this point. Plenty of time for this change so let's hope it starts this week.

haha yea i love what the commentator said about spears blocking the pass with his head " all spears did on that play was be 6'4"

It's not like they haven't done anything yet. They both already have a sack, and Spears also has a tackle for loss and two passes defended. They're both ahead of last year's pace -- as are most of our defensive linemen.

they're doing great against the run, but after wk. 1 or 2, BP said he needed to see more from Canty in the passing game, and judging by his PC yesterday, he hasn't gotten it yet, and I don't think from Spears either, they're doing fine, but they need to step up to help the pass-rush

chris canty is better suited for a 4-3 defense.

he would wreak all kinds of hell in that format.

for the record.........i am not a fan of the 3-4.

I saw Canty inside on a few plays, but no big Madden stick hits for him.

Spears, I did not see much off, other than the {joey gibbs voice on} super smart play where he used his helmet to deflect the ball. You can tell he is a heart strong warrior. {joey gibbs voice off}

Its hard to grade those guys but philly couldnt run (questionable if they wanted to anyway).

In one quarter or five whole games? Jeez.

Which team are you a fan of?

We haven't played "five whole games." We've played four games.

And go see how many 3-4 defensive ends finished last season with four sacks, four tackles for loss and eight passes defended. Check perennial All-Pro Richard Seymour, for instance. Or Pro Bowl end Aaron Smith.

People think players should get one or two sacks per game, along with a few tackles for loss and passes knocked down every quarter, but that just doesn't happen. The NFL isn't like video games.

It really doesnt matter the scheme we run (4-3, 3-4, 46, ect..), Zimmerman will make it look plain vanilla. Why oh why couldnt he have taken that Nebraska job:bang2: :bang2: :bang2:
