Spears being traded?

Me and Silverbear are big buddies in the football zone .... argue are butts off in the political zone.....

Hopefully me and you can separate the two just the same. :D

different zones = different opinions. only an idiot would take what is said on a freaking cowboys' board personally.

Yeah, like last year. When he didn't even DRESS for several games and didn't take over a starting role when Ellis went down?

Right.

Care to define several?

Most would believe that to be more than a two or three, right?

Just checking since he was active for 13.

Yeah, like he was loyal when he called out Spears over and over again. Like he was loyal when he made Carp stay at home and watch our first few games last year.

Did he ever bench Spears? No. Just talk to motivate the guy. Listen, Spears is a bust in my mind and i'd rather have Hatcher start and Ratliff backup and keep Akins bro at nt.

so you don't love me?

btw, don't you guys just love the potential this thread has shown thus far? everyone's introducing old arguments, I love it

sev·er·al –adjective
1. being more than two but fewer than many in number or kind:

Three games is several.

Happy now?

Well, since Hatcher can't play the run, that would be a pretty stupid thing for Phillips to do, especially given that the LBs are now smaller.

Well, that is now what you initially said! You are saying that Wade has an ego involved in someone else then?

If parcells was here, Carp would be starting. Philipps ego isn't involved in that pick.

I wasn refering to parcells' ego being involved in those picks and phillips ego not.

Sorry I should have been more clear

Since when can Hatcher NOT play the run. Spears didn't do a thing against second and third sringers the other night.

This would be stupid unless the CB can come in and start Week 1. I doubt there's anyone that good a team would be willing to trade.

Why would he have to START week 1? That's silly.

If he comes in and is a solid #3/#4 CB with upside, and Hatcher comes in and AT LEAST does the same job Spears did, then it's worth it.

A starter for a backup. Yeah that makes sense.

Don't get caught up in the depth charts. Hatcher is gonna take Spears' job anyway by mid season.

IF they are trying to trade Spears which I doubt, I would have to think that they believe Hatcher is the better option to start.

:hammer:

It would surprise me NONE, if Spears is not starting by the end of the year.

As for trading him for a 4th CB, that is obvious and that was the point of my previous post. Depends on what w're getting for him.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me exactly what Spears has done since he's been here that has been remotely impressive.

I didn't like the pick the second it was made, and while I was looking for a reason to be wrong, I haven't found that reason yet.

:hammer: Agreed, on all accounts, 100%.

And if BP were still here, Carp probably would be starting cuz 1) Ellis is hurt, and 2) We may not have drafted Spencer.

It's no big deal with me...I think this trade stuff is all BS anyway...

just as likely, if not more IMO that Hatcher takes Canty's job

honestly I think this whole thread is non sense anyway, because I dont see them trading a starting DE for a backup DB

so is there anything to this? Has anyone come up with anything supporting it?

I agree that this thread is nonsense, but Canty > Spears.

Although neither one of them are making me jump for joy.

guess we'd have to agree to disagree then...

No, I'll keep hammering you till you agree with me.

:D

Seriously, neither one of them have been great. HOpefully they both pick it up and start kicking some butt. We need them to if we're gonna be w/o Newman.

Canty has shown more- a little more. And he was not a first rd pick. So right now as far as value is concerned its Canty > Spears.
