Spears is playing great in preseason, even better than the Golden Boy Canty.

Our run D is so much better when he is in. Where's Hatcher? He's invisible, on the verge of being a bust.

Spears is busting out. Admit it... he's made at least one TFL in each game, and more than one nice play in every game.

I'm not a Spears homer, but i like what I see. I hope Wade isn't making a mistake by moving Ratliff and decreasing Spears. Maybe split Canty's time, too-- he's been as invisible as Hatcher

I agree. keep Spears in the starting lineup. he can get off blocks and stop the run. the idea of putting him on the bench is stupid.

He played well and made some decent plays. It will be interesting to see how much he plays inside. Did he get his TFL at the T or DE position?

Seems to me he's the ONLY one making any penetration in the backfield on runs. stay tuned, but he looks inspired. I always thought he had a DT's body: never understood the whole DE thing with him.

I think after a few years of the same old stuff from Spears the "haters" are immune from eating crow after a few weeks of good play in preseason games.

I'm glad Spears is dominating, I never hated on him, but I was never that enamored of him either

but he's stepping up and that's all that matters, which is why it's foolish to get too down on younger veterans until after a few years, and it's not like Spears was a huge disappointment since he's been here

He's been one of the few positives on defense the whole preseason, and clearly looks like the best DL (DE or DT) right now...Jason Hatcher and Bowen have been terrible, and Canty hasnt done alot either...Ratliff and Johnson have been ok

For those who wanted to see him traded (alot of you said for peanuts) we'd be in some trouble right now had it happened

actually thats been posted several times in here in the last yr or so, and no, they are not any worse...especially considering he hardly ever plays on obvious passing downs

which might change this yr because Hatcher and Bowen have both taken steps backwards
