That's like comparing Aron Rodgers to Ryan Tannehill.Dak will get close to 30 average. Chiefs have already said that Mahomes will be close to 40 when they extend him in 2020.
Nothing anyone in this forum says is going to change what’s going to happen lol if you think
Dak won’t get paid that much you’re going to be real disappointed
I like Tony and wish the team had won a title with him, but where did giving him a big contract get the Cowboys?
I hope the investment in Dak pays off in SBs, but I have my doubts. The last sentence is just a straw man.
So which is it, fans were wrong for thinking Romo was overpaid or right for thinking he was overpaid?
Yup pay him like he is Aaron Rodgers. Can’t wait to see what type of team they can field around a non elite QB taking up elite cap space.
If they extend him at 5/135m and add in this year at 2m that is 6/137mholding out hope Dak signs for about $23 million year realizing Dallas will need to load the team around him for chance at SB run. I am probably wrong but this is my thought process until Fisher delivers the bad news.
Not well before you have to you don’t.
that's the thing. Have we identified our man? And I'm not talking about Jerrah being a homer, but do they know that Dak is a franchise QB? If they are wrong, it just shows how opposite from the patriots we are in being a well run organization.
Like I said, it’s not smart to play hardball like that with someone you expect to lead your team in the next 2 years. You can’t expect a QB who feels like he is getting shafted tonplay his best.
Has a QB ever been franchised 2 years in a row?
It’s not exactly easy to find a QB capable of getting you to a SB.
Yes, I think that’s what they truly believe and that you can make a very good argument for him being a franchise QB.
You think Prescott and his agent aren't "playing hardball" on their end of negotiations? If they weren't, we'd be talking about $20 million a year, nit the numbers being mentioned here.
Yes.
And this is one? A lot of assumption there.
Well it all depends on what is true: Is Dak as great as some of his advocates say he is? Or is the team so good -- especially Zeek and Coop, whom many here think are our #1 and #2 most talented players -- that they have been carrying him? Will Dak be Dak without Zeek? Will dak be the 3-5 Dak without Coop? Some people think he walks on water, while others think he is trash, and then there are those who want to see a bit more before deciding. That is why you wait to sign Dak after this season, because if he is just average, the cowboys will suck for years to come.

How many teams have an elite QB?That will be the excuse later if they do pay him elite QB money and get average results. I can hear it already.
"Dak just doesn't have enough support around him!!"
If you don't need an elite quarterback anymore, then why pay one like you do?How many teams have an elite QB?
NE, GB, NO all are close to the end. The NFL now is not a league where you have to have a elite QB to win. What the NFL is about now is playing and exploiting the rules. You dont need a elit QB to win a superbowl. WHat you do need is coaches who can use the rules to their advantage.
Because thats the market. Why dont you understand that QBs in this league are going to get paid. And dont act like Dak is a scrub. He's one of the better QBs in the NFL. This league is a league with QBs that couldnt play pre 2005. But thats just the game today. Its evolved to over protecting the QB.If you don't need an elite quarterback anymore, then why pay one like you do?
