Speculation: Escobar to Houston?

In a conversation with a friend of mine (does not play for Dallas) who shares the same agent as Escobar, made a weird statement in a conversation we were having. It could very well be nothing, take it for what its worth.

Me: You think we going to the playoffs?

Friend: You act like you are part of the team, but yeah "y'all" will be there.

Me: Don't be mad because you stealing checks right now, I guess that's a credit to your agent though.

Friend: <laughing> You make a living off of hating, I guess he got your boy Gavin stealing checks over there too.

Me: Oh ok, I see. At least he will be part of a Superbowl contender.

Friend: Oh yeah? He needs to worry about his *** being traded to Houston.

Me: What?

Friend: Naw, naw, I am just saying.

I tried to pull more out of him, but there wasn't any more, and he downplayed what he was saying. Like I said, could be and probably is nothing, but interesting nonetheless. I do know that sometimes things are in the works, get reported as rumors, but then fall through.

Just thought I'd share.

If he's not traded, I see him being cut. When Hanna is ready to come back, the team will need the roster space. If the Cowboys have no intention to use him - and they obviously don't - why not try to get something for him if you can before he's gone next year and you get nothing? Unless there's a comp pick to be involved that I don't know about.

Escobar for Clowney!! For real though, I'd take literally anything for him. Give me a conditional 7th rounder and I'm good.

Clowney is trash. I said it before the draft, and I'll say it now. I wouldn't trust this guy with the game on the line. He just doesn't have the heart to play football, not one that matches his tremendous skill set.

The fans in HOU still have faith in him. He may not pan out, but they are still rallying behind him. He's been injured a **** ton and has flashed at times.

HOU fans would riot if we pulled off that trade.

Just the type of player the Cowboys seem to want. An injured reclamation project.

He's played very well this year, even in a scheme that isn't a great fit. Yes, he's injury prone, but the upside is there. I'm not saying he'll ever live up to the #1 pick, but he'd be a great get for us if he came cheap.

He played in 20 of the last 23 games. He's only 23 YO still. Plenty of players have turned their careers around after a slow start.

Which is why he won't be traded. I could see the Escobar thing though. Houston's TEs are awful and they could use some underneath targets for Osweiler who is scared to go down the field.

I agree. It's nothing more than a wish, at this point. But I can wish, damn it!

You must have not seen any Texans games this year. I used to say he was trash too but he has been a beast this season. He's is having a Mo Claiborne type breakout season

Escobar, McFadden and Dunbar to for Clowney. Heck we will give them a 7th round conditional to a 5th.

They don't need a RB though. that is the problem with that.

What about Escobar, Romo and a mid round pick for JJ Watt? Although JJ is not playing this year but for next off season?
