Speculation: Jerry will make a SPLASH

whatever...

I am refering to nick eatman not you sport78.

Jimmy would never come back. The perception around here of jimmy is that he never lost a game and we won every week 50-0 and no bad decisions were ever made.

We have seen what happens when a coach comes back in washington. Joe Gibbs is as good a coach as this league has ever seen and when he left in 08 people, particularly younger fans were bagging on him and treating him awful.

Jimmy is way to smart to get back into it here.

I immediately thought of Joe Gibbs when I read the OP. Jimmy wouldn't do that to himself.

good ole gut feelings....I have a gut feeling that Megan Good is going to do a naked crabwalk into my living room this evening, lets see how that one plays out

Maybe as a GM or as a "Consultant" for Garrett...

HA! That's the best one today! Good luck on that, by the way!

Why are we all assuming that Jimmy is the same coach he was nearly 20 years ago? Morever, people actually think that Jerry and Jimmy could work together again after what went down between them in '93-'94?

People also forget that Jimmy didnt do so hot in Miami

It would be a perfect fit for Jimmy....

He has had his time off.......and there must be a little fire left...

He will be walking into a good situation......this team is talented and only needs a few tweaks maybe.

Jerry would welcome him with open arms.....and they are friends...

The only thing i see that would stop Jimmy from comming back is .......is there
enough fire in his belly to put those hrs in......and can he get....the assistants he wants.....not because Jerry would overrule him....but they are hard to find because alot of them are tied up in contracts.

I don't think most people really think we can re-create the 90's Cowboys, but it is something to grab on to during the last decade of mediocrity. If Jimmy still has as much as Parcels had, he could do some good but I have no doubt he is not Jimmy from 92'. He ain't coming though.

Not sure Jimmy's return is something I'd wish for. Parcells came back, as did Gibbs. Neither had tremendous success (though I think Parcells was a positive for the Cowboys).

The game has changed since Jimmy's day. Not that he couldn't adapt, but it would just increase the already heavy burden he'd face as HC. Plus he'd have no coaching contacts. He'd be starting from less than scratch in assembling a staff. And you bet he wouldn't come unless he had the ability to hire and fire coaches.

Even if Jimmy came back who the hell would be our Offensive Coordinator?..We have issues beyond the head coach.

We're getting the band back together!

Have you seen the light?

Only way I see Jimmy coming back is NOW, a truncated season. Push Wade and Garrett into the booth and let Jimmy storm on the sidelines.

If Jimmy can get this sorry bunch into the postseason, AND WIN, he becomes an even greater legend. If not, then it wasn't his fault, only so much he could do, etc. That's win-win for Jimmy.

Win-win for Jerry too, can start his coaching search earlier rather than later.

I mentioned in another thread weeks ago that Jimmy seems totally different when discussing the team this year. It's been very odd and ongoing. I think the chances of him coaching here again have gone up 200x, but that still leaves the probability at 2%. Interesting though. And Jerry would love it.

What's next , Jerry is going to bring back Landry ala "Weekend at Bernies"? Is that a big enough splash for you?

The game has changed and I think that Jimmy understands it's a no win (pun intended) situation for him. Expectations are huge and if doesn't win at least 2 SB's he'll be considered a failure.

dude, if this happens, we need to stop bagging on Snyder copying Jerry

because this is a Snyder move

desperate...

I think the only thing that Jimmy may offer to Jerry is his opinion on what offseason moves he should make.A sounding board if you will if Jerry seeks outside opinions.I think the game has passed Jimmy by and he lacks the energy to be even a shell of his former self.

It is nice to dream. Even when Jimmy is 86 years old and we are on year 33 of our playoff drought his name will be bantered about by some of us longing for the good old days. I still get pissed thinking of what might have been had Jimmy stayed around in 94'.

If we hired Jimmy, I'd take up an anti-Jimmy agenda just for the sake of going against the Retread Advocates Society.
