Ray Lewis/Ed Reed for Roy Williams? Anyone else know about this? I am not starting a rumor, just saw this thread on the Ranch. I am wondering if anyone knows if this has any merit to it though.

Wait, BOTH for Roy Williams?

I would be tempted to take Ed Reed straight up for him.

Fun rumor though.

And expect your threat of copyright infringement and accompanying lawsuit shortly.

I don't know the details as I am not a subscriber, I would bet there would be some other compensation on our end though, as the article speaks of top end talent Dallas is trying to get for basement prices.

Ditto, this is a no-brainer, which makes it absolutely out of the question.

Don't believe it, but for discussions sake, Ray has been unhappy about being left uncovered and not having the big DTs in front of him to keep him free of blockers. He would be in just that situation in Dallas in the 3-4. Not to mention he is not what he used to be, and hates TO from 2 yrs ago when TO screwed Baltimore to get to Philly.
Reed for Roy? I wouldnt......

But they were the first to report about Terrell Owens going to Dallas.

Actually, wasn't KLBK CBS 13 out of the Hub City the first to "break" the TO report?

I agree with this. He has said so himself. There was a special on the NFL Films about linebackers and he was VERY negative about the 3-4 because he said it takes away all of what makes a true middle linebacker great. Something like "my job is to take on running backs, not offensive linemen". I would be surprised to see him interested in coming here, or us being interested in him.

Not to mention he is not what he used to be, and hates TO from 2 yrs ago when TO screwed Baltimore to get to Philly.

I don't buy the bad blood thing with Owens. I seem to remember something about Lewis finding T.O.'s imitation of his dance funny.

Actually that TV station in the middle of nowhere won that prize.

Oh I know.

That site is big on claiming it has insider things and charges 100 bucks a year for it. Yet the other day, when Marcus Coleman signed, you didn't see a single solitary thing about it on that site.

From reading the responses over there, I gather it was a trade proposed by Baltimore some time ago and it was Lewis & Reed for Williams & Ellis. I could be wrong but thats what it seemed a few were eluding to.

Apparently, Baltimore contacted Dallas about a swap of players. Roy and Greg Ellis for Ed Reed and Ray Lewis.

The rest is just speculation on why Cowboys would consider it, but as of now, there's nothing to it.

They want Roy and want to get rid of Reed, I guess that answers the who is better question

Thanks WG. If it was some time ago why are they treating it like such BREAKING news? They just got WIND of it themselves, or just stirring up the hype machine?;)

hey, Fred Edelstein must be on the Ranch's payroll now

total b/s rumor...

and it would be a lousy trade for us anyway...Lewis is a pure thug and wants a ridiculous contract, despite being almost washed up...Reed is coming off a bad season as well

I think its more of them wanting Ellis cause Ray wants out of there. Roy and Reed would be equal trade.

"The grass is always greener", or "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" pick the one that fits best I guess.
