It’s a no brainer. If Rico is out, this dude should get some real carries. You will not beat the 9rs with finesse. Smash mouth football from the get go. Let’s goooooo!
I think eventually as the season progresses, you may see more of that. I think they are easing him into a larger role. He's also asked to be a lead blocker, so he has quite a bit on his plate as an undrafted rookie.

I don't think we are physical enough up front to play smash mouth football this weekend. The reason we had the game slip away last year in the playoffs was due to losing pollard - the game completely changed after he was injured. we need to spread them out and get our athletes in space. Pollard can take it to the house on any play and we need that.

Luepke could be a nice change of pace and I agree he deserves some touches.

hes a big dude and a tough one to tackle, but he isnt going to break anything bigger than 10 yards...good to use a bit here and there but all they have to do is stack the box when he comes in and he will be limited..

I mean, maybe? The dude is shifty. Those 10 yard runs can become 20 and 30 easily. I like our backfield.

He is strong in blocking and in the pass game. He can gain in carries probably.

If he can bring 9 into box....leaves a lot of 1on 1’s for CeeDee etc

His red zone td was essentially vrs 9 in box ....play was to go over Tyler S at LG, Heck of a quick read and cut to the right for TD for a big RB.

Limit 9 yards?....ohhhh you mean like the 3rd & 1 vrs Ariz he took for 9. Kids not Pollard, but he got enough for more than 9

I wouldn't mind us using Luepke when we are trying to run out the clock instead of Vaughn. I know they are just trying to get Vaughn some snaps there, but when your primary plan is just to pound the rock up the middle against a defense that is expecting it, it's better IMO to put in a back who's build for pounding.

"Smash mouth" football is the best way to make sure you don't win a Super Bowl.

Sorry but I think you all overrate his abilities as a runner because he's a pet of many. He's not a power back despite the size. His lead blocking is even half and half. Davis is who you spell Pollard with. Luepke's value is in his hands. I think he's a 7, 8 yard guy that way every time. You'll take that and like it.

Love leupke but his ypc isnt much better than anyone elses.

that TD he walked in untouched.
Yeah, YPC may not be much better. But he can be a punishing wear down the defense type RB.
Not saying take carries away from Tony, but for sure get him some more plays. Especially inside the 10 and 5.

Need that running end zone threat (no matter who it is), even if it comes from Dak. Then the defenses will need to respect that, and loosen up coverage in the passing game. Therefore Dak can have that option to run or pass and create better opportunities to get TD's.

I am sure they are working on it.
