I don't understand why people are giving so much credit for that run.

It's fundamental for any NFL RB. You cut the guys who can't make it, not celebrate the ones who do lol
Same with qb reads....some are so basic, and yet every other week some have cranium rectitus...its a crap shoot whst shows up

80% of fans dont really understand what they are seeing. Or they just watch the quick highlights or look at the
AHhhh the self annoited football inteligensia.

Dak acted like a ball boy in retreiving Luepkes 1st TD ball
....he mustve liked what he saw, you should be happy

Watch a few games...look for thst cut. Most run into the designed hole blindly..your .80% of the time. Right smack into a oline butt

Believe me I know. You have been watching Zeke run into the back of his lineman for a few years. We all have.

That's the most basic cut in football for a RB. Glad you are impressed.

I think it will be all of the above. We will use all the backs. Deuce will make a big play in this game. Use San Frans aggressiveness against them. I think they can be had using speed on sweeps. We can get the edge.

This board is obsessed with fat slobs at nose tackle that do nothing and RBs that can barely average 3 yards a carry.

I get it. He’s going to be more useful as a blocker who drifts out for screens.

I was responding to the poster(s) who kept saying Luepke could consistently batter d-lines inside and score against stacked defenses at the goal line.

He’s not that type of full back. That’s really just a carryover from the “old day” perception by fans who still remember the NFL of the 70s and 80s with guys like Riggins and Cszonka.

Modern fullbacks would be better off emulating Larry centers and even DJ who was much better as a pass catcher than a rusher.
Yeah, Luepke isn't a hammer. But having him on the field gives us another run option the defense has to take seriously, and lets us call more run plays so our *oline* can batter opposing dlines.
He's not a hammer, but there's a good chance he's still our best short yardage RB. There's not a lot of competition there.
I'd *like* a hammer to go with Pollard. Brandon Jacobs at FB. But there aren't a lot of Brandon Jacobs to go around. Mostly I like a misdirection offense where as many skill players are multiple as possible, being able to run, block, catch - and throw!

Sorry but I think you all overrate his abilities as a runner because he's a pet of many. He's not a power back despite the size. His lead blocking is even half and half. Davis is who you spell Pollard with.
I know with your duties on various forums it's tough to keep up.

But Malik Davis isn't on the Cowboys.

Need more deuce behind a healthy line.
We need more Deuce on screens. Get him the ball in space. It's frustrating watching him run inbetween the tackles. I don't think he'll make a living doing that.

Pollard is a much better inside runner than Luepke.

Sorry to say but Hunter is not a particularly good runner in any capacity. He can block a bit and catch screens but handing him the ball shouldnt be something we are hoping for.

I feel as the season goes on, OC Schottenheimer will implement more schemes and packages to improve both rookies' production when they get on the field.

We need two things for everyone to be more productive:

1. A healthy Oline
2. Closer games

It makes sense to play Luepke in the RB2 role wit Rico out, but I'm not going to entertain him running over the SF Defense.
