To keep with Bob's theme, the scene in Saving Private Ryan when the German and one of the guys are wrestling with the knife...still gets me

that scene pissed me off to no end

because it cuts to that ***** crawling up the stairs while the guy is getting killed

I also recommend the scene in Crash where Matt Dillon is pulling that chick out from beneath the flaming car, that whole thing was epic with the music

I have the same problem but it's not limited to horror films.

I will give you an example.

I don't know if you've seen it but I watched The Truman Show (not a great movie) back in the day with a friend. There is this part where he figures it all out (that his life was a tv show) and he makes a run for it on a boat. It's a pivotal part in the movie and everybody else thought it was very emotional. The problem is he run straight into the backdrop (the painted scenery that looks like the horizon) for the show. I busted out laughing so hard i didn't realize that noone else found it funny. Everybody else was very sad. :(
:laugh2:

Yeah, I remember that scene. Maybe I didn't laugh, but kinda remember stifling a giggle or two.

Of course once i started laughing and realized i was the only one laughing i couldn't stop.:

I'm sure there were some people in the theater who wanted to punch me in the face. But it was one of those uncontrollable laughter that i couldn't do anything about.

Finally! A fellow Blair Witch-advocate!

Thank you, VTA.:)

Yeah, we're a couple of losers. ;)
I'll even admit to having gone to the theater twice to see it on account that that so many in the house were screaming and I missed a lot the first time.

I remember I 1st saw it in high school at a friend's house, and there were a few people there, like 9/10, and this ***** would not stop talking throughout the movie, just because she already saw it

and she wasn't even talking about the movie, just talking, and talking, and talking

The thing is another that had some wild effects in it, sure some of it was cheesy looking but still pretty intense for it's time compared to some stuff today.

Speeking of cheesy special effects, is there any movie that needs to be remade more than the Evil Dead? I get tired of telling people that that movie was scary when I was young and they don't believe me.

Wait.

Why were people screaming?

There wasn't anything frightening about that movie. At all.

Forgive me. There were screamers in my theater too. I didn't get the fright then and still don't now.

Man, it was like 1950 or something, people screaming "don't go in there!" and all that sort of thing.

I did find it creepy but I swear, I did not scream. :D

That movie gets kind of a bad rap, but I dug it.
I watched it again recently and when you get past the docu-interview business going on, it gets creepy.

Being in the woods at night is creepy enough and I can relate.

I think I was lucky that I got to see it well before the hype machine ran wild with it. It was created by two former UCF students so I got to see it in a small indie movie house in Orlando before it hit the big screens.

It probably worked better that way.

I realized when I was watching it, it might have been more effective if I had just happened to catch it on TV one night, totally unaware of what it was all about. No hype, just wondering what it is.

Hype can doom a good little movie..

The scene at the end of Braveheart when he's being tortured and he looks out into the crowd and sees the vision of his dead wife. That always gets me.

I haven't seen Dead Poets Society in many years, but the scene at the end when they all get up on their desks always moved me too.

Also, the end of Big Fish where he takes his dad out of the hospital and down to the river.

Almost all the Myer scenes in Halloween...Especially the legendary sit-up near the closet behind Curtis shot. Still the greatest horror movie ever.

Also, The Last Broadcast>Blair Witch Project.

Evil Dead was already remade...It was called Evil Dead 2.

Arrgh, you remake people need to stop. The ED series is one of the best trilogies ever. Just be happy that Sam is going to be making another one soon.

The only scary thing about Blair Witch were the extreme camera closeups. I don't need to see a chicks nose hair. :laugh1:
