Spoke to my insider yesterday

That offensive staff loves Lance Dunbar.
I expect he is re-signed and Turbin is back.
I do not think it likely they look RB early.
This one is rather an open book quiz.
They liked DMC more than anyone else last year, signed him and ignored the RB in the draft.
After he proved them right I don't think they'll reverse course unless the draft board forces their hand.

You can't get better everywhere so you gotta de-value a few spots.
For better or for WROSE on this team it is RB/1T/Safety ... I shed tears over last one.

I don't buy that on Dmac. They had him at 3rd string to start and he won the job by default.

Me too and it is his accuracy but also his pre-reads I like. He knows what defense is coming more often than not.

I don't see many spread offense QBs that struggle reading a defense until they go pro.

Again.. Very Bradfordish.

let me preface this by saying I'm only sharing this with the board because there are certain members who requested I pass this along. Feel free to believe what I'm telling you, ridicule what I tell you, doubt the legitimacy of what I'm telling you or anything else. Doesn't matter to me as I don't gain squat for this.

The office I work at has a contractor who works on a certain project for our company but is also a member of the Cowboys staff.

So I Spoke to my guy. Asked him why I hadn't seen him in so long and he said his project for our company is about done.
He'll be around every once in awhile to check things out but not nearly as much as before. So that sucks.

Anyway I asked him about the draft, and like before he said he can't go into too much detail, but said we LOVE Wentz. Said we believe he's the real deal and that we've been watching him for some time hoping he wouldn't blow up the way he has. Said he didn't mind sharing this info because it's already out in the media.

Said Jerry really wants Tony to win but understands he's only 1 hit away from us being completely stuck w no QB. So the possibility of us going QB w the first pick is VERY real.

I asked if we'd trade back and he said that's possible if we don't get Wentz. I personally prefer to trade back and asked him what he thought, and he said "it don't matter what I think I'm telling you what THEY want" lol. And said they want Wentz, period. He also said the scouts get paid to know what they're talking about and that they say Wentz can make the throws has the size and ability they want. Said the scouts really like him a lot and he does too. More than Goff and more than Lynch.

I Asked about Hardy and he said it's complicated because Rod knows he's an exceptional talent but his attitude just sucks. He's been telling me this all year. Said reports about him being out of shape aren't really true, he was in shape, just late all of the time and just "did his own thing".

Asked about RB and he says they believe in DMC and expect him to be the guy for another year and draft RB next year.

Asked about 1 tech and he said Hayden needs to be coming off the bench but they aren't focused on a 1 tech specifically. Said they want big athletes that can move. I argued that we should get a huge 1 tech that can get some push and he said "again they want big athletes, period"
Says they are set in their ways and that's it.

Overall he was kinda cranky and I suspect it was because he wanted to go to the senior bowl but they didn't bring him. I wanted to talk to him more but he was on his way to "other projects" so he had to run. Wish I could've got more questions in, but I wanted to pass this along.

I know the Wentz fanatics on the board will probably appreciate this.

Ill be excited if dallas takes their future qb, but if they go with a dr or lb ill be ok with it. I an definitely getting to the point where i want them to get the next guy soon. You have to think if they dont get someone this year, their hands are tied next year, but maybe not.

I wouldnt be all that surprised to see wentz fall late in the first or maybe even to dallas' #2

I keep forgetting about Turbin. I did like what I saw from him at the end of the year. I guess it couldn't hurt to roll with those two and have Dunbar back knowing that if that threesome doesn't work out you've got a nice RB class coming in 2017.

Tears have been shed on the safety position the day Woodson retired to the present.

The sticking with Dmac scares the crap out of me! I hope they are really not that stupid. 2 straight years with no rookie backs?

I REALLLY struggle to understand the logic that applies here but apparently I am in the vast minority....

DMC was 4th in rushing last year. Murray 1st the year before.
DeMarco was a 3rd round pick. DMC was a cheap vet option.
Why would anyone want us to go all Felix Jones round 1 at RB?

This is the one area we are actually doing better than anyone in football with performance versus spend.

Why fans have an issue here really and truly boggles my mind.

I don't buy that on Dmac. They had him at 3rd string to start and he won the job by default.

He came in injured and was out of shape in camp.
But Jerry literally told us the front office graded him higher than Randle.
DMC proved to the Coaches he was better when he got in shape.

At the end of the day not starting him sooner looks questionable and signing him looks genius.

Right now only Gurley from last class bested him and we never had a snowballs chance at Gurley.
But even if we did there is ZERO chance right now I'd trade BJones for Gurley as badly as we need safeties.
Gurely to DMC is a drop off for sure but no where near the drop off form BJones to JJ Wilcox.

You absolutely want to trust the guys behind him because RBBC happens more often than not whether you prefer it or not but DMC is coming off a very good season, under contract and cheap.
Repalcing him isn;t int he top 25 priorities of this team.
That 'need' ranks ahead of only kicker and ol for me.
The ony other spots we are better than 4th best at anything.

Not getting a running back is a mistake, imo. Just another example of them not valuing a position that is going to end up biting us in the *** next season. Watch.

Yes, DMac had impressive stats, but very little impact on games. I still hate his presence on the team. He is nothing more than an excuse not to update.

Does Dallas want a Jay Ratliff at DT 1? Oh, without the drama.

Very few DL are Demarcus Ware. Letting him go IMHO was a pretty big mistake.
We didn't want to pay age but the guy is one of the 10 best DE's to ever play this game and we could have gotten a lot more out of him.

Ratliff is a sad deal when a guy might need to be instituitonalized for mental issues. He may not have ever been a bad guy, just literally went crazy.

I don't believe a single word. I have no idea why you waste your time making this crap up but I do mind you wasting my time when I read it.

This is a very interesting response considering a response you made below in another thread. Why not take your own advice? This goes with what I was talking about. You lack any consistency or intellectual integrity to be taken seriously; you're obviously a troll.

Being a jerk doesn't make your point, it only makes you a jerk. I encourage you to engage in civil discourse or disengage. Try making real points and less personal attacks next time.

He is just like Free, Hayden and Carr. They all aren't good enough.

They all need to be upgraded. It isn't personal or complicated.

And I don't remember anyone wanting Felix. I remember a lot of trying to talk ourselves into him, just like you are doing with DMC.

I'm fine with Mcfadden for another year although I would like to upgrade but nobody was going to have a big impact last year without Romo.

The coaching was just horrid. Absolutely horrid.

Dmac is just a guy. I've stated several times he did an admirable job last season. But he doesn't scare anybody. Had Randle not been a bone head he would would have started the entire season. He actually had 1 more TD than him in 3 games compared to Dmac for the long haul. I don't hate Dmac, I just want a bellcow as that's the only way this crappy offense has proven to be successful. We cannot count on Dmac as well as that's only the 2nd time he has been healthy for a season. Then what the Turbin Dunbar show??

I'm not advocating getting a 1st round back either. 3rd and on and I will be stoked, although I would take Zeke in a NY minute but not at 4.

Btw what do you think of Washington in the NFL?

Thanks for the info bro, I love reading stuff like this.

I absolutely love Wentz, so this just made my day bro.

That's 100% the opposite.... Hayden and Carr grade out below virtually every starter in the NFL.. McFadden was 4th best in the metric that matters most for his position.
McFadden came into this league as a 4th overall selection. He had measurables NO ONE in this RB draft class can match.
Carr and Hayden were draft class afterthoughts with poor measurables.
Carr is one of the slowest CBs in the league.
Hayden one of the least agile DL.
Those are athletic issues that only get worse with time.
McFadden's issues were being expected to carry a franchise ina time where running games were never going to match passing games and getting injured.

Arguing he is not good enough borders on delusional but it is reallly popular.
I suspect this is just a hang over from last season when everyone wanted a RB early.

But, whatever, they can continue to cry and DMC will continue to perform well.
