I live in DC. The kid is a punk & a headcase & has some serious mental problems. Despite all of his "character guys" BS Gibbs keeps spooning out, he tolerates it because the kid has talent. Mistake. Sadly, this kid is going to end up destroying himself & cutting his career short. He will never live up to what he could & should be. He got lucky this time, but he won't the next time. And there will be a next time. The only person Gibbs is fooling is himself--& skins fans stupid enough to believe it too. I think Gibbs is hoping he can keep the kid from blowing up long enough to retire--then leave the problem for some other coach to deal with.

Kitty, there are some on this board that hope TO has learned a lesson and settle down with his new team. While I do not equate TO's actions with Taylor's, were Taylor a Cowboy, I'm sure we would all hope he 'wised up' and settled down to play football at a high level. Taylor's actions off the field strike me as an immature young man with an over-inflated ego. They have reached the point where they could become a distraction for the team. I hope your prediction is wrong but sometimes maturity and wisdom come too late or never to young people and their opportunity slips away.

I'm not excusing TO at all, & frankly, I don't think his ego will go away. However, he does show for practices & he's never gotten caught with a gun. Taylor also, in his rookie year, had to be "escorted" to the mandatory NFL rookie symposium--the deadskins literally had to track him down & make sure he attended because he'd blown off the first day. TO at least did that.

I like what Norm Hitzges said one time about Randy Moss, & it applies to TO (& Taylor). He said he has to remind himself that Moss, emotionally, is forever 12 years old, & that he can't be expected to behave any better than a 12 year old. (Also means the coaches have to treat Moss & TO like 12 year olds--which Parcells is, by not making him the center of attention.) Taylor's problem is that there really is something wrong with him mentally--he's not just immature, he's unbalanced. I really do hope for his sake that he gets help (or the skins try to get him help) before he hurts himself in a way that can't be undone. He reminds me of Dennis Rodman--the guy was seriously troubled, but everyone ignored it because of his talent. Now look at him--anyone really think this guy is going to live to make 60? (I put Chad Johnson in that category too--it's only a matter of time with him as well.)
