Sportsline: Same Old Sean Taylor

Don't believe me. Believe what YOU think when YOU watch the interview. Form your own opinion instead of eating the crap that a bad journalist feeds you.

I watched the interview. Taylor wasn't quite as bad as the CBSsportsline writer made him out to be, but he definitely wasn't "humble" or some of the other glowing adjectives you used to describe him.

He came off to me overconfident and arrogant...like a guy who thinks he merely needs to show up for camp in July and his talent will take over from there.

We'll see...

Humble is not a word I was us. I understand you are a fan of his, but clearly you are biased and just as off base as you calim the Sportsline article to be.

In the end, I guess I understand your point, Taylor has never given the media anything to write about  . He's a choir boy.

I actually thought the media tossed up softballs and was pretty easy on him compared to they questions that both TO and Parcells have been asked.

"He's had a lot of personal issues there," Gibbs said. "We've had a good talk, and I think he understands that. I think certainly he's been through a lot. I think he's learned a lot. Our feeling is he realizes some of the positions he's put himself in. I think he's ready for a fresh start."

Translation:
"Mr. Commisioner, please, PLEASE don't suspend Sean Taylor. MY Hall of Fame a__ is on the line!" :lmao2:

It is titled Sean Taylor:Friday, and is in the media box on the right-center of the screen.

You will see how far off the media slant is against Sean, pretty typical though. He doesn't come off as arrogant, antagonistic, or attacking in any way. This is first hand evidence of how a reporter can slant an editorial piece in the form of a personal vendetta. Amazing!
Personally, I thought that there wasn't anything wrong with the majority of his interview. Even his 'butchery' comment was reasonable, imo. It's these three comments which bothered me:

________________________

Reporter: "Is this your first chance in a while to just think about football and not about the other stuff?"

Taylor: "Well yeah of course. I mean, now this stuff has been a great cloud over my head. So now, you know, uh, I can see a little bit of light, you know. Um, I have a couple of things that I have to do as far as speaking to schools and things like that, but that's not outside of my limits."

________________________

What does it matter whether it's, "in or outside of your 'limits'"? You're the person responsible for both your own actions and the 'distractions' from your j-o-b. He could have kept the 'talking to schools' bit to himself. That came across as arrogant to me.

________________________

Reporter: [Sorry, couldn't make out exactly what his entire question to Taylor was]

Taylor: "I mean, I have answered this question, already. I mean, it's great. I mean, football is what I love doing and, uh, anything that's taking away from that I think wouldn't be right. And right now, I can focus on football and focus on my life."

________________________

So, basically, anything that a person intentionally does to himself or others would (knowingly) result in negative consequences within his livelihood. So, wouldn't it be logical to avoid doing things which you know will have a negative effect on your j-o-b?

Arrogance.

________________________

Reporter: "Are you concerned about what the NFL will might do for a game or two?"

Taylor: "The NFL's the NFL. They're not going to change for me. They're going to do... I mean, I don't know what the NFL's going to do. I don't see what they should do."

________________________

"I don't see what they should do."

What 'they' should do is punish your *** for doing something which had a detrimental effect on the NFL's image.

Just like EVERY other NFL player, coach, etc., has to face up to.

If that results in a suspension, etc., take it like a man and learn from it. Don't act ignorant about the consequences of your own stupidity.

It's really funny to hear Commanders fans defend this guy despite his obvious character flaws.

I think I have had my point made for me.

he has a chip on his shoulder, but i didnt read anything to warrant that. your boy TO has said worse. much.

Sean Taylor simply takes out the trash.

Both the guys who stole his ATV as well as Michael Pittman (wife beater), are trash.

I just rewatched the interview and am completely amazed about how wrong that Sportsline article is. Wow. Sean actually comes off as a humble guy with a sense of humor.

So despite a $25,000 fine for skipping a mandatory rookie symposium, a drunken driving charge -- eventually dismissed -- that got him benched for one game, seven fines for late hits and other on-field infractions, including $17,000 for spitting at another player during a playoff game and the no contest plea, which could still lead to a fine or suspension from the NFL. Commanders fans are still saying the Taylor is just misunderstood? I really wonder what a skins player has to do to have one fan say they don't want to POS on their team.

if taylor was not a football players half the skins fans wouldnt come anywhere NEAR him in the street.its amazing how sports can make people more forgiving towards a knucklehead than a regular kid with problems.

Yeah, your right.....TO is much worse. :laugh1:
Remember when Cowboys fans thought TO WAS worse than Taylor? Back when TO quit on his team. Back when he tore two teams apart. You know, like the day before he was traded to Dallas?:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Just to clarify, TO was never traded to Dallas. WE signed him as a Free Agent after he was released.

DC Gregg Williams demoted Sean Taylor to the second team Friday for missing offseason work.

Taylor has an interesting take: "Everybody's entitled to their own opinion as far as the offseason goes. Some people believe in participating. Some people believe in resting. As long as you're here from the end of July to whenever the season ends, that's all your team really cares."

I swears this guy is destiny for a long term prison cells. He is so stupid and ignarant about anything other than hitting, spitting, fighting and the likes.

We would have never picked up some one like that in the draft. Only Snyder and hipcrit Gibbs would do it and soon the chickens will come home to roast on that one.

Can't not weight til he starts getting salad time with Bubba in jail cell frenetics. Maybe they make it a pay per view type indulgent on HBO.

Ha ha ha har har!

This guy and Parcells would most certainly get along.

I don't care how he "comes off", that doesnt change the fact that he shot at other human beings

Like I said, does Moss really think anyone is going to believe him?
Taylors RECORD speaks for itself over the years from college to the pros. Sooner or later he will get in too deep for his money or his fame to get him out of it. Just a matter of time.

I never though that.....sorry.

He also never quit on his team. He was willing to play and perform on the field. He made his intentions abundantly clear in the offseason leading up to the year. He said if he didn't get a new contract he was not going to be happy.

You can say he made a royal pain in the arse out of himself, but you can't say he quit on his team. If the Eagles would have made good on a new contract for him, remember the one that even the NFLPA said was garbage, they would still have TO.
