He didn't make a mistake...McFadden did in that situation.

You guys should listen to Nate Newton on Talkin Cowboys speak on the subject. I'm sure you won't accept the position because of your disdain for Garrett....but players and coaches have different perspectives than fans.

They BOTH made a mistake.. And McFadden, unlike Garrett, has no problems admitting he made a mistake..

While I may have disdain for Garrett, other people are just blind homers and justify everything. Even Jerry said they managed time awfully and he has less disdain for Garrett then pretty much everyone in the planet.

You do realize that if he kneels 3 times and kicks the FG, the Commanders get the ball with about 35 seconds remaining. Just so you are aware, they scored a TD on the next drive in less than 35 seconds.

So what would you be saying now if that happened?

The difference is they wouldn't have TOs.. Seriously..

False.

He just doesn't owe the media those explanations or apologies. OBVIOUSLY, the team keeps as much of those discussions in house, as they should. Clearly, it's frustrating for folks such as yourself, but I don't blame them.

Here's one example:

But he can tell the media and the world McFadden made a mistake though particularly when the whole world is criticizing him, including his boss..

I like Garrett. Yes, he sounds like a slow farmhand talking to the firewood delivery boy in his media quotes, but I'm quite sure that's intentional. If he talked like that to the team they wouldn't like him. I've spoken with him numerous times in person and he's the kind of guy even you diehard haters would love to have a beer with. I really don't care what he says in pressers. He can tell the media that Beezelbub the queen cat of Mars told him to end the game like that for all I care.

It's either this or Belichick saying "we chose our best option at the time" 7 times in a row. I don't know what's better?

His team didn't handle the end of the game well, which is on him. They won, but they could have easily lost. He made mistakes, just like all coaches do. Most criticizing him right now wanted him to screw this up anyway, so I'm not sure what people want.

I guess he could pull out a short sword and kneel down on the press stand and commit Seppuku. Short of that I don't think his critics will be happy.

there are plenty of guys on the job that are cool to hang out with, but suck at their job and when "things" hit the fan, because of their incompetency, they are nowhere to be seen..

The comical thing is this whole offense settles for field goals and the very critical situation they needed to run the clock down and kick a field goal, they score a TD and leave plenty of time on the clock..

They can't even do that correctly..

Obviously Darren made a mistake. Anyone with a functioning set of eyeballs knew it the moment it happened.

The point is, what Jason does or doesn't say to the media is largely unimportant. It's obvious that they, as an organization, handle matters behind closed doors as much as possible.

Well, they did win the game. That fact seems to be lost on many.

But Jason didn't tell the media He made a mistake, though EVERYBODY knew he made a mistake.. You see how that works? What is he keeping in house, other than throwing his player under the bus while he tries to remain unscathed...

They used 1 timeout on that drive after a running play. They would not have run the ball, they would have passed. Do you think that 6 yard run made the difference on DJ's TD?

Seriously - read the play by play Einstein!

And they almost lost, because they left too much time in the clock.. Congratulations that Whitehead made a fantastic return and Dez made some great catches in clutch.. Surely wasn't Garrett..

The Commanders would have had to stop the clock of we just downed the ball at least twice, instead of scoring..

That makes no sense. They would have used both timeouts and had none left and would not have run the ball on that drive

If someone supports me and takes responsibility for their actions privately, but then in public does the opposite and skirts blame, I have no faith in what they said privately.

If anything, if it was 100% McFadden's fault, and 0% on Garrett, Garrett taking the blame publicly but holding McFadden accountable privately would be the thing you would want from the coach.

You have to score the TD there and trust the defense. What if DM fell to the ground and the Cowboys missed or had the FG blocked? You guys would be calling for DM and JG head.
