You don't switch out the right tackle position at the start of the playoffs, especially with a guy who hasn't play right tackle in the NFL. Yes Free wasn't very good yesterday, I expect with a 2 week break he'll be better, no need to mess with the chemistry at this point...

Great news!!!! I would love to see him eventually replace Doug Free at RT. I believe Free should be let go in the offseason with Collins stepping in. I know they're saying he can't play tackle in the NFL, but to my knowledge they've never even given him a try at RT. I personally think he would be a serious upgrade over Doug Free. We should also keep Ron Leary. Next season our line would look like this....

RG= Zack Martin
C= Travis Frederick
LG= Ron Leary
LT= Tyron Smith

It's unrealistic to expect Collins to replace Free at right tackle this season. If Dallas re-signed Leary and moved Collins there to give him the opportunity to compete with Free for the spot, I think Collins would win it. But they are not going to bring him off IR and insert him in the playoffs at a position he hasn't played.

Imagine being a DT that is fighting Leary all game knowing the 4th Quarter will be brutal. Then Collins comes in during the 3rd quarter completely rested with a clean uniform. That's a kick in the stones.

Love the "designated to return" IR tag. Can't give teams too many otherwise they'll take advantage, but atleast there's a chance of an impact player coming back after a devastating injury early in season

If Romo couldn't get his starting spot back there's no reason Collins should get his back. Leary has been balling.

We could see Martin at RT and Collins at RG next year. I wouldn't object.

I think it totally depends on Leary. If he's still here then I see no changes in the front 3 (Center both Guards). I see Collins moving out to Right Tackle and Free hitting the streets. Chaz backs up multiple positions.

If anything it will help Leary's back heal a lot faster. You'll be seeing a lot of FP from Leary in the next two weeks' practice reports.
