. The Dallas Cowboys had little trouble with the Green Bay Packers in October. Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott had a breakout game in what became a 30-16 victory.

We've got to start faster. Dallas is a great football team. Dak (Prescott) and Zeke have been playing great all season. They are tremendous players. They aren't playing like rookies. They're both in the MVP conversation,” Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. “We can't let them run behind that big offensive line, and we've got to start fast and make them as one dimensional as possible."

Here’s what the other Packers had to say about a rematch against the Cowboys:

Wide receiver Davante Adams: “We’re ready, man. We’ve got to get back in the film room and have a great week of preparation. We’re rolling right now and that table is not done being ran. So we’ve got to keep that going for a few more games and then we’ll get what we want in the end. We’ve got to keep at it, keep playing well in all three phases and I think we’ll like where we’ll be at.”

Right tackle Bryan Bulaga on Packers’ offense now compared to October: “A lot more efficient. Found our identity through that rough patch that we hit, kind of in that middle of the season. We didn’t really have an identity. We weren’t playing well. We weren’t executing. These last six weeks we’ve found something and obviously our defense is playing really well to boot. I think if you look at both teams, both teams have improved from when we first met, so it’s going to be a hell of a game.”

Packers fans really want to lump that Dallas loss in with their mid-season skid. Reality was, that first game was two 3-1 teams and a matchup of the 'best' rushing defense in the league against the best rushing offense. In Green Bay. We put ~200 on them and won pretty handily, then they started their slump.

It's great that Rodgers is playing up to his usual level, but this GB team was eager and had a lot to say before we beat them the first time in their own house. It's not exactly surprising they're talking again now.

Aaron Rodgers just laid out the blueprint for what EVERY team is going to try to do. Make Dak beat them. And I don't care how much Dak does it...they will make him do it again...and again...and again. We are indoors the rest of the way. And this coaching staff cannot be afraid to let Dak play. They chose to ride with Dak (a decision I agree with...even though Romo is the better QB)....so they need to construct a game plan that give Dak and the team confidence in Dak. When I look at the defenses left...I do not see the '85 Bears anywhere...so Dak will be fine if they let him do what he has done all year starting back in pre-season.

GB is the perfect matchup for us. They are the hottest team in the NFL and when we beat them-- the psychological edge and confidence we will have will help us on our march towards the Lombardi.

Gonna be a hard fought game-- but I just think the fact we are fresher and at home is going to give us a big advantage in this one. Can't wait to end their season and return the favor they gave us in 2014.

Dak, playing at the level he's played at from day one, is capable of beating everyone ahead of us. That said, if this OL and this RB are really worth what they're supposed to be worth, now is the time when they step up and don't let the defense make Dak beat them anyway. Otherwise, what's the point? If Zeke belongs in the NFL MVP discussion, this is a game where he makes a statement no matter what GB tries to do to stop him. Same for Dak.

GB really wasn't that good during their 3-1 start, though.

Their defense is still bad. The difference in their team has been the change with Rodgers.

I am not saying ignore Zeke. But if we get down 2 scores trying to run Zeke into a brick wall...we will playing right into the Packers hands. They want to get up 2 scores and make this about Dak. We have to have a balanced approach...but we have to send a message that if you sell out to stop the run...we will torch you. I would much rather have Dak throwing when the defense does not know what is coming (pass or run)....than to have Dak throwing when the defense knows what is coming (pass only)

That wasn't the storyline at the time, though. At the time, their stout defense was the reason they were winning.

If we beat them again, the current Rodgers MVP storyline will fade the same way the #1 rush defense storyline did. We're still the same matchup problem for them we proved to be back in week four.

its just hard to believe that a rookie qb will beat Rodgers with him playing so well but its the nfl so I guess any thing is possible

Sure, if we're down two scores. With this OL and legit MVP candidates at RB and QB, we shouldn't be down two scores early in a home playoff game. We should be able to sustain long balanced drives against a beatable defense and not play the Packers brand of football at all.

And if we can't do that against GB, it won't matter anyway, since we're going to have to be able to do it to ATL, too, if we advance. And their offense is better than GB's.

It's harder to believe that rookie QB is playing at a level where his team is favored to beat Rodgers team at all, yet somehow he is. It shouldn't shock us if Dak straight up outplays Aaron in this game. He's already shown us he's capable of doing it.

Yeah it is funny how they act like the time between the first game and now is years apart. We are also playing better ball and will have a healthier team. I give them credit though, they are respectful unlike the trash we play in our own division.

Las Vegas usually has a good idea of how to set the odds for NFL teams. Dallas is currently favored by 4 points in that matchup. Let's also be aware that we've had the advantage of a bye week, as well as home field advantage. Granted, Rodgers is playing better but so is Dak, Zeke and our overall defense as well. This matchup should be one that results in a real dogfight.
