I think that, until we see Taco against average to above average OTs, we really need to relax.

This guy is trying to beat Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, and La'El Collins every day in practice and we've got media members and fans voting him a bust after a week?

C'mon, y'all.

I preferred Watt over Taco due to feeling that T.J. was the better pass rusher in my opinion.

However, I'm giving Taco a chance and hope he can provide a solid pass rush.

This defense needs to create pressure in order to advance in the playoffs.

A rookie DE is struggling at training camp?!

Anybody criticizing him right now doesn't know the NFL.
Gonna wear my Finish The Fight t-shirt tomorrow and stop by Taquito Bell for lunch.
LOL. You broke character, so you had to immediately follow up a solid post with a classic Risen-ism so to not confuse people.

So you thought Watt would have been the better choice for DE?

If you are looking for a pressure player, I think Watt has a better chance of fitting the bill. Thought so before the draft, nothing I have seen from Charlton so far has changed that. All is not lost, he could still turn the corner. Perhaps he is just a slow starter.

Cowboys defensive end Taco Charlton had a pointed subtweet Sunday. “Don’t believe everything that is said.” Don't believe everything said — Taco Charlton (@TheSupremeTaco) July 31, 2017 The first round … Click to Continue »

the best thing you can do is have low expectations his rookie year. Even Ware did very little his first year. Trying to fantasize that Taco is going to solve our pass rush this year is borderline ridiculous.

Watt can bring the pressure but I'm not upset with the Taco selection. I just wanted Watt due to him being the better pass rusher.

Nothing against him who I still have high hopes for. I felt that we had a player (Irving) similar to Taco which at the time didn't make sense to draft him but I accepted the pick and feel Taco can be an overall better DE as far as rushing the passer and stoping the run. To me Taco would be a very good DE in the 3-4.

Once again I like Taco though.

Not sure why we would draft a player that should be and is best suited as a OLB in 3-4 when we want them to play DE in a 4-3.

I did not really care for any of the players that were available to us at DE when we were on the clock. The players I liked were already gone or 2-3 round guys that were more of upside guys with high ceilings but played vs lower talent.

If taco stays healthy and gets some sacks here and there but turns out to be good against the run...he will probably exceed my expectations for his rookie year.

I just don't see Watt as a scheme fit so I agree with the Cowboys taking Taco > Watt.

The Cowboys did diligence on not only Watt, but other players who were considered OLBs in a 3-4 (Terrell Basham, Tyus Bowser, Derek Rivers). I guess the question becomes why were they wasting time bringing them in for visits etc.
