The self fulfilling prophecy.

Either I'm damn good, or you're transparent.

Eduncan snuggles with that pic like Theo snuggles with his CZ Mock Draft Trophy. ;)

It is gonna be so funny when you drop the hammer on that little Troll.

Slightly off topic: I wonder if Stanback will be running scout team QB the next 2 weeks leading up to the Philly matchup.

maybe it's just me, but it's starting to get more frustrating the more we hear about him b/c we are not getting opportunities to see it on the field.
Who would you want to bench so we can see Stanback on the field? When he is ready we will see him.

Romo. Move Cratyon to QB and let Hurd be the #2 and Stanback #3. ;)

EDIT: Speaking of. I want to see a Cratyon end-around option deep to Owens.

Austin..........he has been a dissappointment. He's not very good at special teams and doesn't get in the game on offense.

Stanback should be given a try, even if it's running decoy fly patterns.

so we don't see enough of our FIFTH WR so putting someone in their place WILL show more from a FIFTH WR spot?

i swear to GOD - he was drafted as a project, billed as a project, and been treated by a project by everyone except the IGS fanbase who refuses to see anything but results NOW.

I believe Stanback is on record saying he never ran a 4.6 in his life and that he had no idea where the scouting reports got hold of that misinformation.

I agree........after he was drafted I listened to his interview on the ticket and if I remember correctly, he stated he ran between a 4.35-4.4 and I can't remember what he ran in the 100 meter, but I do recall the commentators stating, "Wow, that is fast"......IMO, Stanback will be replacing Austin on Special Teams after this year.

NFLDraftScout has a 40 time for every single prospect. Does anyone actually believe that every prospect has a verifiable 40 time?

Of course not. They literally just make them up.

Shock and awe.

Someone called in to Talkin Cowboys to ask about Stanback's status. Mickey mentioned he recently saw Stanbach (S) in practice. S was running good routes and catching the ball the way he was supposed to.
Didn't mention S's back (or lack thereof) of speed. Have heard before that Cowboys can't cover S in practice. I would assume if S lacked speed they'd be able to cover him. So think it logical to assume he's got some real speed and/or other moves.

i seriously doubt, Mickey would know what a WR running a great route would look like.

Don't forget that Mickey has a man crush on Stanback, he had me all hyped like we'd see the guy returning kicks at the very least on opening day and catching passes before the bye... 6 weeks later....

Stanback is the new Henson.

He's the shiny new toy that everybody wants to see, but somehow can't get on the field. Either the coaching staff is holding him back or he's a bust pick by the front office by Jerry & Co.

This may or may not be true...I wouldn't know as I haven't regularly read Spags' stuff in the last 6 months or so, but how would that explain Phillips reactions to Stanback questions in the pressers? I'm not doubting or ruling anything out here, as no one has really seen the kid play much, but it'd be nice to think that Ireland could be justified in the pick, and that Wade's good words are a reflection of Stanbacks hidden (to us) ability. I'm not holding my breath here, but it would be nice to see this guy pan out, rather than turn into (as WG has pointed out) "a Henson" by the unconditional love of the media.

The first time I've seen a WG post that I thought was off base. I'm devastated!''

the sad part is simply that *we* were told it could be awhile yet for some reason there's a sector of the "hear what i wanna hear" fanbase who missed all that so they have a bullet for their agenda gun.

I'll survive.

I don't know that you were around during the "Play Henson" era. Trust me, the threads popping up are very similar.
