Stanford jumps Boise State in the BCS

Thats the truth, Truth! :laugh2:

Not addressing an argument doesn't change the fact that you have an attachment to a school for no other reason than you've been a bandwagon fan for a long time. How loud did you shout 'Boomer Sooner' in the late 90s when they weren't very good? The Beach Boys said be true to your school not be true to another school that's winning.

You can believe what you choose but there are many people who have been lifelong fans of certain College teams and follow them with great passion.

You'd think that if that passion was great enough to look down on other team's fans, then they'd have enough passion to attend that school.

Thank you little person. You have proven a lot about yourself w/ this rabid yet odd rant about having to go to that school to be a true fan.

:laugh2: :laugh2:

We thank you....

I dont even want to defend myself against his rant because its so strange.

You can tell someone your history of following a team. Its up to them after that.

Its still a message board and sadly attracts some strange behavior.

Maybe you'll understand once you actually start rooting for your alma mater.

Why do you care? Why worry about what another grown man is rooting for? He said nothing about your school. He was talking about the team.

I think fan excitement and the bantering that goes on between the fans is just part of the game and the rivalry that are so great in college football.

People talk about rivials in pro sports? does not even compare with the rivalry that has a much longer history in college sports

I as for attending the school there are many long time fans of college programs who did not attend simply because they could not afford the cost of attending a particular school but that does not change their passion for their favorite college team.

I think what is silly is for another person to tell someone they can't have passion for a college program unless they went to that school. Last time I checked this was still a free country

I agree who is in any position to tell another person who you can pull for and what level of support you have? :laugh2:

I don't need anyone telling me who or how I support my teams.

Typical. OU fans are all alike. Never step foot on the campus of the the team that they claim to love so much. I don't know why you're calling OSU little brother. OSU is clearly the superior school when it comes to athletics, but of course you wouldn't know that because the most exposure that you've had to either school is watching from your couch.

The Directors' Cup says otherwise. OU is routinely in the top 25 while OSU is stuck in the mid-30s.

"Oklahoma had 18 of its 21 teams reach postseason play to record its highest Director’s Cup ranking ever at No. 10"

I have great passion for the Dallas Cowboys, but I've never wanted to live in Dallas, work for the organization, or be a cowboy. Should I stop cheering for the team?

What? You aren't a Dallas Cowboy Alumni? Didn't you play in Super Bowl XXX?

:laugh2:

I am sorry. This whole thing is giving me the giggles.

Did Stanford beat Boise State or Boise State lose? No. Why should Stanford leap frog them? They shouldn't.
Stanford was ahead of Boise State in the human polls last week, but Boise St. led Stanford in the BCS because of Stanford's low computer ranking.

When teams have the same records, the computer rankings use strength of schedule as the number one distinguishing factor. After this past week, Stanford's SOS got a lot tougher, so that was reflected with a rise in their computer ranking.

So now Stanford is still ahead in both people-polls, and the computer polls have them much closer so Stanford now has the overall advantage, albeit a slim one.

Explain at the end how a 1 loss team from the SEC or Big12 can still make it to the NCG over an undefeated BSU. That will REALLY get him going.

National Championships say otherwise. OU has 26 total NCAA championships. OSU has 47.

That combined with the fact that an OSU sports team has not lost a single game this year, I'd say that they're superior athletically.

I would agree that Boise's team this year probably isn't as good as last year but that doesn't change the fact that they shouldn't be cast aside because of some stupid ridiculous standard that they will NEVER be able to meet.

If every season they're going to get hammered because "they don't play anyone" then the BCS should just come out and say what they really mean and tell the world they won't put BSU, or any other small school, into the title game.

Quit jacking around and just call it like it is.

Furthermore, if Boise is going to get hammered for "not playing anyone" then every big school who failed to accept their open challenge should get hammered as well.

The BCS is a joke.

Basically, Boise is in NCAAF purgatory. Not good enough to get the free pass but not bad enough to be completely disregarded. So here they wait, punished season after season.

They know damn well that the ups-and-downs of a small program come more frequently than the big ones. And they'll continue to ignore Boise until time catches up a little bit, their QB and RB moves on and Boise goes through a little rebuilding period. Then they'll come out and champion their system more than ever because Boise will have lost to some nobody at some point in time.

I honestly don't know how anyone can support a system that completely eliminates the "underdog" aspect from sports.
doesn't matter if it's the BCS CBS ABC NBC ESPN, whatever. Stanford is better than Boise.

That is what they said about Wisconsin when compared to TCU. ...now tell me. Who is the current Rose Bowl Champion?

...yeah, that's what I thought.
who won the Rose Bowl in 1965? That has just as much to do with Stanford and Boise as last year's Rose Bowl.

Stanford is a better football team than Boise State. It's just that simple.

Boise State didn't even win their own conference last year. Nevada.

It wouldn't matter if that wasn't the consensus.

That's the problem.
