So how long does it take to get your burst back from an ACL tear?
Well, I'm not a doctor, and others can correct me if I'm wrong.

A player can return after 2-4 months depending on how severe the tear was. After that time frame, it's just a matter of the player "trusting" his knee again.

I looked it up on the internet and it hinted to about 6 months before you could return to sports activity. How long until training camp?

I don't think so....the guy who plays opposite Ware needs to be a real LB, not a full time pass rusher like Ware.

Yes, but he better be able to rush teh passer.

Unlike the succesful 3-4 teams, we couldnt disguise our edge rush because everyone knows Ware is coming.

Get that fixed and you can leave Davis at FS. This defense will be scary next year.

I agree with you, but I would prefer an upgrade at FS.

Yessir. Rather have Davis as a GREAT special teamer instead of a GOOD ST and a Average Safety.

However, OLB is a bigger priority, IMO, than FS.

My wishlist:

OLB: Ware
OLB: Spoon
MLB: James
MLB: Dat (If he comes back)

Witherspoon is a hell of a LB, but he is a little light for a 3-4. He only weighs 331 lbs. I don't htink he would fair very well if he has to take on a tackle occassional. We need a LBer in the 250 lbs range if he is a vet. At least 240 as a rookie since he will still put on weight.

I'd take Witherspoon but that might get pricey.

What I like about Howard is he's a LB first with freak Size/speed. And he has some Edge rush skills. Imagine a QB having to worry about two edge guys and not just Ware......

Thats when Spears, Canty, Fergi start wrecking the inside!

Pricey? Possibly. However, we are so close to being a serious contender, I'd be willing to shell out the big bucks for proven players who we know will help right away.

I'm not sold on Howard. I wonder about his fit in this scheme. I'm interested to see him in any all-star games and at the combine.

I think it's a little unnecessary to talk about starters that much though. Bill is going to rotate guys and give them different roles to keep them all involved. I think Fowler is likely the starter next year simply because Bill will want him on the field on running downs. Shanle will probably get some snaps in the nickle defense. Burnett will steal playing time as he gets healthier. Fujita, if brought back, will have some role. And I think a OLB to play opposite Ware will also be brought in.

Ware, James, Derek Smith, Carpenter

Burnett/Shanle as nickel backers.

Problem is Howard is the same size as Burnett/Al who BP has said is much smaller than what he's use to at SOLB.

Weaknesses from link provided:
Struggles taking on bigger blockers, lacks instincts, not the best tackler.

He'll end up in a cover 2 scheme.

Hey Nors,
How does your top 5 go in regards to possible prospects at OLB if one is drafted?

Burnett just tores his ACL. I thought that was a 2 year recovery process. How long does it take someone to come back fully healed from an injury like that?

dude, you've said this like 10 different times and the same answer comes back everytime, the recovery process is less than a year

Howard has the LB goods and will also be faster than most RB's and WR's on the field. And he posesses Edge rush skills!

Manny Lawson is bigger, and can get to the QB alot better
