No way
I could see Ball as part of final cuts. I could also see him being named starting LT.

Trying my best to convince myself that's not peculiar and to remain positive about the season.

No way no how Ball gets cut . Now Alacorn yeah they need to expose him to waiver wire . Bye .

ok my Starting five man for Tampa

Zack Martin LT
Tyler Smith LG
Matt Farniok. C
Connor McGovern RG
Terrence Steele RT

When they had Nate Newton on the sideline last night, and the broadcasters were asking him which o-linemen he thought was doing a good job, and Nate said "none of the them!!" I had to laugh at him to keep from crying!! :p

But then he corrected himself and said 68 - Farniok would

I would not be surprised If Zack Martin is not contemplating retirement.

LOL.

That would be the final kick in the teeth.

Someone made a sobering point in another thread. We went from an OL anchored by Smith, Martin, Frederick and Collins to one that's basically being held together with band aids, silly putty, play doh and dollar store scotch tape.

Well, many here thought some of us were just being negative Nancys, Debbie Downers or Chicken Littles when we said this OL was shaky at best and OT was a real weakness, moreso than LG and C. The worst case scenario has become a real case scenario. Who saw this coming? wow... hit me like a ton of bricks. Didn't even get to start the season and this OL is falling like a house of cards after just one severe injury at LT. And our genius FO is looking at a leaking dam and plugging holes by removing other plugs. Yep, they had it all planned out. When your OL has a weak link it is bad enough but you can try to manage around it and provide help. But when you have at least 2 and maybe 3 weak links on the same line, good luck amigos. Dak is gonna be wondering if it was worth it after all.

Well the preseason is over and we saw them throw different looks out there. With Tyron out looks like Tyler takes that job.

Who do you have for the starting lineup. It seems like JJ is going to stay in house and not go after any starters. At least not till cuts.

I wonder if Ball gets cut. He looked ok later against second string. Alarcon maybe cut. We don’t have a lot of depth here. Tyler has a ankle problem.
Pretty sorry excuse for the depth on the O-Line, especially with the way Smith's injuries have piled up!

.. I would not switch over Tyler. He is needed for the run game. Big guy, strong and quick. Im hoping for replacement.

Really poor excuse. Alarcon and Ball should have not been on this team still. Could have been replaced last year with better talent. Trying to develop something that’s not gonna get to the level needed. Ball got better when seahags put there 3rd string in. I don’t need another chaz green.

.... I thought Ball was ok last night. Even though Jerry has not indicated outsourcing. They dont have a choice.
He had a rough go against the starters. I don’t know how good the seahags starting defense is. After they rotated to second string Ball started getting better. I don’t know how many regular NFL snaps Ball has had.

You have Farniok as a backup guard. If Zack Martin goes down, for example, Farniok would go to LG and McGovern would go to the right side.

Your backup tackles will be Ball and Waletzko, unless they tell Waletzko to get his shoulder surgery now and they put him on IR.

Anyone looking for a miracle solution needs to let the air out of their balloon and float back down to earth.

It sounds ugly, and it is! But I think any stopgap measure will be a disappointment too. This should have been addressed a long time ago when there were better options out there.

...we're in trouble right now. Hopefully in two weeks, the ship will seem more stable.

JJ had opportunities before and after draft to get a bunch of O-Line to sort through. And he should have gotten a better O-Line coach to IMO. But he just didn’t.
