ok so let's draft a couple of WRs who run in the 4.9 range.......no sense in taking those overrated burners....let's get a few guys who can't get separation in an elderly ward.....

BTW....I want Donnie Avery and Paul Hubbard

Why in the world do you want Paul Hubbard?

The problem with a lot of burners is they tend to be on the smaller side and so get man handled at LOS - see Ted Ginn Jr this year, its the football guys who know how to beat this and then use their speed in the right places. You dont go 100mph into a cut becasue it cant be as sharp but you put the burners on out of it. The more sucessful burners mentioned above are on the larger side or very adept route runners. One of the main reasons I wanted no part of Ted Ginn in the draft last year.

Harrison was drafted in 1996, like I said, I only have information going back to the 1999 draft. Chad Johnson ran a 4.57 at the combine, Steve Smith ran a 4.41. I didn't include them because they didn't fit the requirements. Yeah Johnson slipped a bit when he ran his 40 at the combine, he ran again for scouts a few weeks later at a Los Angeles high school, he ran a 4.44 there.

And 40 time isn't an indicator of a players ability to get separation for the majority of routes. On a streak sure, but for a lot of other routes it means jack.

i have smith running a 4.38, the USC smith ran a 4.41

After the loss of Muhsin Muhammad in free agency, Smith did more film study than ever before. He went through an intense rehabilitation, arrived in training camp with a body cut from granite and posted his fastest time ever in the 40-yard dash (4.38 seconds). He also spent months without a football field, grounding himself in nothing more than marriage and fatherhood with his wife, Angie, and three children – Peyton, Baylee and Boston.

USC Steve Smith ran a 4.44, I have Utah Steve Smith at 4.41. While Smith may have ran a low of 4.38, with 3 times on each run it's quite possible that he only timed sub 4.4 on one stop watch, hence 4.41 being used as time.

Actually, after reading that article, it seems like Smiths 4.38 time was something timed in Panthers training camp not the combine.

lol I wish I could link it but it's on a pay-site...on a side note I did find a link saying Seattle once timed Joey Galloway at 3.9 lol.
