I'm not much into chain restaurants.
I've never eaten at Flemings.....out of my price range. P.F. Changs is ok.

I don't necessarily mind if it's a chain if it's good. I have no issue with people replicating success, as long as it's not at the cost of quality. But yeah, if I'm in another town, I like to try local places.Hostile;3510295 said:I've never tried them either.

all you can eat of amazing different steaks, its my favorite place to eatHostile;3509794 said:What is a Brazilian steakhouse? I am intrigued.
He said Flemings has amazing wines too. That means nothing to me, but it might to her pops.
SaltwaterServr;3509826 said:See if you can get them to New Braunfels and hit up Myron's. Dad raves about it and he's pretty particular about steak houses.
TL&C hasn't ever really impressed me to be perfectly candid. It reminds me of one rung above Outback.
3 Forks is great. I've heard good things through the grapevine about Finn and Porter's but I cannot give a personal accounting of how good it really is.

That's a new Brazilian steak house we have here in town that comes from Chicago. My customers have raved about it. Haven't had the time to make it over to pay them a professional courtesy visit just yet.
been there, the one in houston is bettertrickblue;3510466 said:

He recommended Flemings, Texas Land & Cattle, Ruth's Chris, or Fogo de Chao. He said the last one is unique. He did not explain why. He bet you'd choose Flemings based on your criteria.
Congrats to your lady. Enjoy the meal.
I've said it before on here. A Fogo restaurant is my favorite place on earth. That's not an exaggeration. That place is sublime.Hostile;3510968 said:Sounds good. There's one in Scottsdale. I think I will give it a try the next time I am up there.
Thanks for the education.
From what I am seeing, it is all you can eat steak, all kinds of different cuts, cooked the way I want. How could it not be?theogt;3511122 said:I've said it before on here. A Fogo restaurant is my favorite place on earth. That's not an exaggeration. That place is sublime.

we are letting her dad pick but we are giving him the listCowboyMcCoy'sWife;3511065 said:Texas Land and Cattle's steak melts in your mouth, I'd have to say that's the best steak I've ever had. I've been to Ruth's Chris but it's just a fancy hoity toity place. It's a nice place to show off to the pops but Texas Land and Cattle is a little less showy. Take it from a girl's perspective. What does your girly say about it? Does she have an opinion about it or did she just tell you to pick?
TL&C steaks aren't in the same class as these other high end restaurants. You pay a good bit more, but there is absolutely a difference in the quality of the team.CowboyMcCoy'sWife;3511065 said:Texas Land and Cattle's steak melts in your mouth, I'd have to say that's the best steak I've ever had. Tell your husband to take you to a nice place.

It was a family restaurant and what I remembered the most about it was the pit was in the middle of the restaurant, Someone else can problem tell you the name of it. The brisket looked awesome.

Great Q, and a legendary TX BBQ joint, but probably not what the steak-burner's looking for for an upscale dinning place.
lol i told my GF that your meal came to 185 a person now she wont put it on the list, she would feel horrible having her dad spend that much on dinner. were simple folk hahaSaltwaterServr;3511591 said:It's on 4th Street and Red River if you're heading west on 4th from 35. Pretty dang nice place. Dad had to remind me that I have been there with one of his business deals for a private reception this year. Call about the dress code though because neither of us could remember if it was strictly coat and tie. I want to say it was.
I want to say the bill came out to $185 a head with cocktails and a few bottles of wine. We brought our own magnum of 1994 Silver Oak Napa to start, then went off the usual extravagantly overpriced wine list. I had the filet with crab meat. Damn fine eating.
3 Forks would be my second choice.
Absolutely. There's a line in the sand where the evening changes from "going out to eat" to "dining out". I might be a bit snobbish when it comes to things of this nature, but one of my bucket list items is the chef's table at the French Laundry.
