You need to locate the video of him with his shirt off. Nate had nothing on him. When I saw it, I was blown away that the Cowboys actually draft him.

I think there's a bit of nuance with being NFL fat, and security guard fat.

It's misguided to think Newton was just a fat guy playing o-line. Newton was very strong and was built for the type of power schemes Dallas was running back then.

Brewster came to Dallas in poor shape, he was also reportedly not very strong. Last year he reportedly came in better shape, but apparently still didn't impress the coaching staff enough.

There are other factors we're likely never to hear about. Like whether he was a hard worker, good technician, or struggled picking up the playbill.

People seriously go overboard trying to defend why they dislike some players.

Maybe so but having your leg blown off or being born with half a foot has very little to do with being flabby and out of shape going into a career as a professional athlete. It certainly doesn't, and shouldn't, define you as a prospect however.

This is the first I'm hearing of Brewster being flabby, but I disliked him as a prospect from the very beginning.

I remember I like (and liked) Terrance Cody and wanted us to snatch him up but all anyone could talk about were his man boobs instead of his play.

It's irrelevant because there is absolutely no way to know whether or not it's true, no factual evidence to support either case. He doesn't believe he would have been drafted, you do.

Virtually every draft guru out there had him graded where the Boys took him, and none that I saw projected him to go undrafted... that's my point...

Lest you doubt what I say, ask around in here, I think you'll find I have pretty good cred as a draftnik... that's because I study the subject very, very closely (I already have about 75 college seniors on my draft watch list, a list that will grow to over 200 when underclassmen declare, and I have a chance to study the draft class more closely... you don't even want to know the hours I put into my draftnik hobby...

Brewster obviously didn't have much ability or perhaps anywhere close the type of conditioning needed to play in the league. Or, maybe it was a healthy combo of both.

Either way, what's your defense of him then? He was cut last year despite the team being woeful thin at OL; passed through the league with no takers; cut again before camp and currently not on an NFL roster I believe.

I'll slide my chips with McMahon on this one that he's probably close to the truth. It wouldn't surprise me if he's just relaying what some team scouts or coaching told him.

meh AOA has been called soft since he got to Dallas. difference btw being an elite athlete and football player. he has the physical intangibles but he doesn't like to mix it up.

Soft to me means he shies from contact a la Carpenter. If anything he needs to be more wary of it.

He got decleated by a TE who outweighs him by 40 lbs. Its not like he was dodging a scat back.

There were two different plays and people seem to be getting them confused. The one where the number is not clear he didnt get trucked. He tried to tackle high didn't wrap up and bounced off.

Later where AOA's number was clear it was again a screen to that side and in his pursuit, he tried to just run past the blocker instead of engaging the block, the blocker lined him up and knocked him on his ***.

I am guessing the latter is what people are talking about when they talk about awareness because I did not see him iss an assignment which is more than what i can say for the other safeties.

I would be morec oncerened if he hadn't gotten back up after that shot he took and continued to chase the play.

Its pretty obvious from watching him that he is green as grass but I guarantee you ont he next screen he sees to his side he won't just ignore the blocker to try to run to the ball again.

Sendejo is mediocre of footspeed and is more fiesty than physical and there is a difference. He drags ball carriers to the ground, he doesn't just knock them over.

I'm pretty sure this one is AOA.
