Something went wrong with the surgery.

No I'd say from the picture something went right....:laugh2:

if I remember correctly, Marcellus Wiley had an appedectomy(SP) and struggled coming back from it for a year, but then again, a DE twists his middle-body alot, so it might not have that affect on Roth...but then again, a QB twists his body preparing to throw...idk, I'm babbling

I wonder what happens to the people who put down a certain amount of money on Pitt.

They should have been worrying anyway - this team is good, but it isn't built around Roth. I don't think that losing him is the root of their problems.

I don't think it's going to be a huge problem for a week or 2, esp. early in the season, just rely on what they've been doing, even w/ Roth, ball-control, a strong running game, and stifling D, but then again, Willie Parker will have to be counted on as the crux of the running game, there is no more Bettis, but I don't think roth out should be that big of a deal for the 1st couple weeks of the regular season

Gotta disagree. Miami, Jacksonvile and Cincy are their first 3 games. Those are teams that will all be in contention for a playoff spot. Lose to them and they risk their playoff life.

See I don't know what kind of weight to give to the fact they start with 3 tough games... On one hand, they will all be in contention, and tiebreakers and such are important. On the other hand though, even with Ben back there, the Steelers were going to be tested in these three games.

I don't think they could expect to be 3-0 after that start even with Ben. So if Batch can come in and pull out a win somewhere, they'd be 1-2, when they probably would have been 2-1. I think they'd take that. I guess I'm rambling too, but I wouldn't be reaching to say that it's better for Ben to miss the time now rather than later.

big ben going be ok he got good luck if he didnt he could have died. one off my fav players get back soon big ben.

Karma is a *****. I guess this is the kind of thing that happens when you get a Superbowl handed to you instead of winning it.

Roethlisberger has had a tough year after winning the super bowl. Two times shown that life has the potential to be short. I wonder if he looks at the world any differently?
