Twitter: Stephen A. Smith: Family members must step in and save Jerry

You people are crazy if you think Jerry is going anywhere. He's as sprightly and football inept as ever. Nothing has changed. He is still front and center. The face of the franchise and he loves it. Jerry is living his dream.

Sure, he's disappointed this year but he's never discouraged. Jerry can be faulted for many things but lack of optimism bordering on delusion isn't one of them. The only kid with any football sway is Stephen but he's been a beta man to his daddy his whole life. Jerry isn't stepping aside for anyone. It would take a medical diagnosis to sideline him.

If he sells the team he won't have a microphone in his face every week anymore. His ego won't allow that. Thats more important than selling tickets to him.

Where is the great Will McClay in all of this? I have to assume he's being a complacent yes man. I consider everyone around Jerry that refuses to challenge the status quo a part of the problem.
Probably getting Jerry his morning McMuffin with extra salt.
Will McClay LOL.............common man please......look under YES MAN in the dictionary and his photo is there!!!!

No. It will seem Iike it, though.
It's all downhill for the Jones clan/Cowboys from here on out.
If they have any intelligence left in their hillbilly souls selling NOW is the choice.
They had a nice run and turned a 150 million $ investment into at least 12 Billion + won 3 SB yada yada yada.
Big boy decision time for Jerry as the near future is without him............................

He’s not selling the team. The notion that anything indicates that’s being considered is typical Cowboys fans’ fantasy.
Fantasy? I don't live in that world. I go by what I see. I think your comment is reserved for others.

I'll ask it again.............Do you think Jerry will live Forever??
Bingo. This is why we can't rule out the team being sold. Jerry has often said, he doesn't have time for a bad time. Not sure why many think it's impossible to believe he could sell. I'm seeing a guy that is tired ,old, and surrounded by family that really don't want to be involved in football operations. The man is over 80. If he was ever going to sell, now makes sense.

You rattled off hard facts. It's lining up.

I'd like nothing better than to be a fly on the wall to see such an intervention come to pass. Some fans here have been harping on that a lot lately.
Count me in as one of them. They'd be doing Jerry a big favor, whether he'd respond well to it or not. He fails to realize how badly he performs as his team's GM. It would behoove both him and his team, if he listened to them and acted upon it. I suspect they're afraid of his response.

The drama of owning and running the Dallas Cowboys has to take a toll on the entire family. Perhaps they can talk some sense into Jerry and convince him to either sell or hire a true GM and step away from the daily grind of running a team. I know it’s not reasonable to think it will happen but perhaps of Kerry knew the toll it was taking on his family he’d think more clearly. If not, I feel like Stephen will at least hire a GM and be more of a traditional owner. At least I’m hoping.
I have an overwhelming sense that Stephen will prove to be AT LEAST as reluctant to hire real football management professionals as his father - but with a reduced media profile. We’re trading PT Barnum for The Wizard of Oz.

I don't see Stephen taking the reigns. Not fully. He seems disengaged.

Disagree completely. He’s literally the reason we don’t sign outside free agents of value and have shifted to building only through the draft. He seems disengaged bc his dad is everywhere
