Most people brush off Stephen A and Skip because of their personalities created for tv but they have good points in some instances. Many fans feel the same exact way about Jerry as what he is saying.

firing Ryan still seems like an odd way to fix the offense
You say that as if the Defense doesn't need fixing.

I love Smith he keeps it real, but if your going to talk about a particular subject at least do your homework. Rob Ryan convinced Jerry to sign scandrick to that extension, Jerry got him Brandon Carr, he moved up for Claiborne and the defense never cashed the check his big mouth wrote. I'm really tired of the injury excuse. Terrell Suggs missed the first 6 weeks of the season for the ravens, Ray Lewis missed over 10 weeks, and they lost Webb their starting CB against us. The ravens are still playing ball, because their coaching staff maximized whatever talent they had. The ravens had every excuse to pack it in, but mentally tough teams don't do that. When does his 5 minutes begin?

This may be so about the Ravens but don't expect them to go much deeper, and to say their team played through their injuries isn't accurate, their D is playing way below what they are used to. Also our injuries were way more extensive than what the Ravens had. To dismiss what our D went through is plain ignorance, teams can overcome but their is a point at which you won't and can't recover, like picking players up off of the street mid season and expecting them to play their way into the playoffs.

You can't be on the fence here, if you are a proponent of giving guys more than 2 years. If you are a proponent of that, IN ANY CAPACITY, then you are hypocritical to want Jason to continue coaching the Dallas Cowboys.

Except I'm not a proponent of IN ANY CAPACITY. I draw a line between a head coach and everyone else (GM, assist coaches, trainers, etc.).

A HC needs time. Maybe a GM. But not the assistants.

It's how a lot of fans have felt for a while. Stephen A is 100% correct.

Here's the facts:

This February, Jerry will have been owner for 24 years.

Jimmy Johnson was coach for 5 of those 24 years.

The *WORST* thing that could have ever happened was winning the Super Bowl in 1995. Going to what Stephen A. was getting at; this win, above all, fed Jerry's ego. It was like a shot of steroids that has lasted 17 years now.

Jerry thought, "Wow, I don't need Jimmy to win championships, I'm good enough to do it myself." And he has said as much, just watch almost any interview discussing his position as GM and he'll boast about how, as GM, he's won 3 Super Bowls.

How many head coaches since Jimmy Johnson have been allowed to hire their own staff rather than having a staff built for them by Jerry?

*IF* Garrett is staying, then that would be the place to start: Let the HC pick his own coaching staff.

He's brushed off for no reason other than people don't like what he's saying.

I dont like that little weasel but he makes a lot of sense on this one. The true problems with this franchise wont be fixed because Jerry cant replace the one man that needs to be replaced, himself.

Smith is a straight up clown. I do feel that Rob got a raw deal, considering what he had to work with but even before those injuries, we weren't exactly destroying teams defensively. I give him a ton of credit to getting dudes off the streets to play their best to try to keep us in games but I guess that's not good enough. I have ZERO idea what Jerry has in mind to correct this but til that time, we all have to wait & see, including Cowboy Hating Idiot Smith.

Offense is scoring the points. Defense isn't. There's a lot of fixing that needs to be done. O-Line needs to be fixed, the Defense as a whole needs to be fixed.

I read on DallasCowboys.com that RR was seen as disorganized.

If you observe that disorganization daily at Valley Ranch, in conversations, in meetings, on the practice field, .. you see it and then hope that it does not spill over into the games.

Some may have even discussed the disorganization amongst themselves when RR was not around, ... but again, you hope it does not impact game situations.

But then you begin to see the disorganization on the field, ... players running on and off of the field looking very scattered and out of sorts, not knowing where to line up at the snap.

And then at times you see 12 men on the field, 10 men on the field. Having to use timeouts to clear that up.

And then at times seeing that the 11 we had on the field were not the right 11 to have on the field and thus creating mismatches for us defensively.

As you notice those things on the field, you recall how you saw them and the disorganization off the field, .. in meetings, .. on the practice field, etc.

It seems like Tony has to put 24, 27 or 30 points on the board to win, and at times that is not enough.

Our 8-8 seasons are the best record that RR has ever had as a DC.

I like the guy, but let's hope we can do better. It really comes down to who we replace him with before we decide whether this was good or not.

I disagree....the offense couldn't run the ball consistently, they got way behind in games because they turned the ball over and got too many 3 and outs. I love my Cowboys but how can you NOT think the offense was pretty poor this year?

Can you blame him for what he said? Jones is stupid for what he did. Ryan was one of the strengths of this team. If he had retained his starters, we would be a top 5 defensive team. Not his fault. Ryan should be defensive coordinator, Norv Turner should be offensive coordinator and JG, head coach. Done.

This is a very interesting point because everything JG presents seems on the surface to be organized. It seems he would be almost obsessive in details and preparation and yet at the end of the day -- we look disorganized. It's such a disconnect.

If Jerry hires Ray Horton or Lovie Smith. Stephen A. will be praising him. Both those guys are upgrades (injuries or not) over Ryan.

If Norv or someone is brought in to be the OC, then Jerry and Jason will be seen as trying to improve team.

I don't like Jerry at all, but if they bring in one of these two guy then it's an upgrade and as a boss you always look for an upgrade.

Steven A Smith could be right. One Playoff win in 16 years? Seriously, bad personnal decisions year after year? Ultimately who's fault is this?
