Stephen Bowen

We should get Pat Williams by trading Spears and Hamlin and some behind the scenes cash and put him at nose and move Ratliff to OLB.

You should really just stop all together.

From what I've seen in the lockerroom in those funny videos and how he congratulates people for making a good play.
I don't know that that's really a sign of leadership. It does show signs of being a good teammate, though.

You may be right but I just got the impression he was.

I could be wrong but I thought Bowen was lined up at NT and Rat at end on one of Rat's sacks.

I say resign him. He always seems to be getting to the QB.

Wouldn't be surprised if Spears is let go and Bowen takes the starting job.

Uncapped year Spears is under club control, CBA will play a big role in who stays and who goes.

He's good but he's not that good. He's a rotation guy at best.

And people just like you were saying the same thing about Romo, Ratliff, and Austin.

Players grow, and they get better - that's' what a good coach does. I love it how people like you say "this player is xxxxx at best." Yep. Just like Austin was a career 4th at best. Romo was a one-hit wonder at best. Ratliff was a good rotation guy at best.

That stuff is so far from right - it can't even be considered left.

I can't wait for Bowen to become more. I should start saving posts - just like this.

move awaaaay from the whiskey bottle...

... on the other hand if you throw in Coakley, then ok you have a deal.

If there isn't a new cba signed by next season he will be restricted along with Austin, Hurd, Spears, Hatcher etc.

Please do save it. If Bowen becomes more than a rotation guy I'll eat my crow. If have many times and will do it again in the future. I have no problems admitting I was wrong.

Do you?

You're kidding right? Why don't we let him kick field goals and play QB too? :laugh2:

I'm sure in some form, you eat crow daily! :laugh2:

Marcus Spears is having his best season IMO. He's gotten better each year and has become a must keep IMO. I dont think he'll demand Canty type money beacuse Canty had more pass rush upside in him. A contract no too diff from Igors should keep Spears here. Maybe a 5/25.
He is a unsung hero and is underrated by many.

Bowen is a great rotational guy, good pass rush from that DT position. I'd like to keep him too. I see him as a 4-3 DT though not a 3-4 DE. Thats why he's so important to have for that nickel D.

He is a grinder like Ratliff who I could see emerging with more opportunities.

You may be correct. I also remember a play where Rat started in his usual position and at the snap he swung around the end almost like a delayed blitz and got a sack.
