He's saying that but a bad loss to the Eagles might do it for Jason. The bye week after Philly would be an ideal time to fire Jason G before coming back to play the NYG

Anyone who thinks Garrett will be fired during the season is an idiot or delusional.
What's to be gained by that? We are 3-3, still 2 consecutive losses from where we were last season before starting our run, and he wasn't fired at 3-5.
Who are you going to hire that's worth a damn in October?
It is NOT going to happen!

Agreed, but firing Marinelli and letting Richard take over the D might actually help. It also might not.

Before they call out JG or blame someone else, why not admit of their own failure as management and correct it

What does everyone expect him to say? Jason is on the brink of losing his job? Say that and the Cowboys will be strutting out the same stuff we saw yesterday.

Nothing inspires a team to greatness like following a lame duck coach into battle.

They certainly looked inspired yesterday. What might actually inspire the team is a wake call for the HC and some pressure from the front office. Cause as of right now this stupidazz quote from Stephen hurts more than it helps.

They also gave Wade a vote of confidence before letting him go. If he wasn't on the hot seat he would have been extended by now.
Wade Phillips started the 2010 season 1-7; he wasn’t gonna survive that — especially with Jerry’s personally anointed “head coach in waiting” standing in the wings.

Jason Garrett is Jerry’s pet-cat puppet. Unless this team totally screws the pooch, JG isn’t going anywhere.

This political speak has been working great over the years. Be nice to have a front office who applies a little pressure and a coach who can handle it, instead of the nutless wonder. Statements like this are really just sad and pathetic at this point.

All executives, coaches, staff, and players of all the major sports leagues do it. They all are given talking points and they repeat them ad nauseum.

Public relations blows these days.

They aren’t going to tell you anything real. Let them lose this game in a embarrassing way. It will slowly grind on them.. If the team hasn’t given up on JG then they may soon. They know what’s going on. And if the Offense is being changed.

so you guys believe all the media responses from the FO? come on dont be gullible, of course they will support coaches and players until they dont.. they are not going to berede a current coach and threaten his job while still in a playoff mix..

you know how they made statement, they didnt give him new deal.. JG job is on the line..

Not only that, but Stephen did put somewhat of a qualifier in his statement about having a "great year". You can either look at that statement as Stephen being clueless about what's happening around him, or he's making it clear that the coaching staff is only safe from the hot seat as long as a "great season" is still a possibility.
Yes, as long as a coach has not yet been fired, tge worst thing to do would be for ownership to imply that the coach is in danger.

I don't recall ever find me a head coach during the season
Agree.

Although if a team is going to hire a new HC in the off-season, it's a better process if the current one gets fired before game 16.

Management has to make a rushed decision if they start the process after the season.
