Pickens has shown up late to the freaking team plane going to away games. Under Mike Tomlin. One of the most respected coaches in the NFL.

It's just hope. We looked like garbage against the Saints last year. Then garbage for most of the game against the Ravens. Who was injured? We're now hoping Pickens and the draft can make a difference. It could, who knows. No one expected 2014 or 2016.

The big wildcard is Schottenheimer but quite frankly, I thought he was the weak link in the coaching staff already. He was brought in to fix the running game and that was one of the worst parts of the team.

The other guy is Blue. If they happened to pull a rabbit out of their hats then things could look a lot different.

I can see reasons for hope but realistically, Dallas hasn't done much this year. This is a mediocre NFL offseason by most standards. We are just accustomed to even worse so this looks like a pleasant surprise.

I remember the late to plane discussion and from what I recall the source was TJ Houshmandzadeh. According to TJ, his intel supposedly came from someone inside the Steelers locker room. TJ is cultivating quite the reputation as someone who may bend the truth a little bit in an attempt to make news. Don’t believe me, check out the credibility damaging blatant BS he put out about Nico’s reasoning for transferring out of Tennessee.

For all the negative comments there are counter comments like this one from Peter Schrager. “I’ve talked to the Steelers folks. George Pickens is demonstrative on the field, but he is not an uncoachable player," said Schrager. "In fact, he does have a great way about him in the locker room and is very well liked in Pittsburgh."

Yep, in this case Schrager is a mouthpiece as well as no specific names were given but I do trust him a little more than TJ. Point being I don’t know that we can buy everything we hear unless specific source names are given.

He is aware of his reputation and understands that getting the bag is probably more dependent on him behaving than his on the field production. If not he is a complete idiot.

That is the basis of this argument.

Also. Just because they were active compared to last season doesn’t mean anything. They did nothing last season. So even the bare minimum this season would have been better.

He doesn’t deserve a victory lap for finally doing his job. That’s the problem. We think he deserves credit for doing his job.

Do we give credit to the people who pick up the garbage simply for doing it?
