Why would Dumb and Dumber give out their strategy prior to the draft?
Thanks for trying, @jazzcat22 has some things me and him are working on. He can be a tough guy for you on here, but in private, he's a softy for ole coog!!!! lolCan you make him a mod, though?
Yes I will wait and see if our 4th round trade darlings Lance and Mingo work out.You might want to see how Mingo turns out.
and Beebee last yearHope we get a good trade down and still get a good player ala when we moved down and still got Micah.
Mingo has yet to play with a decent qb. You act like you know something about 4th round draft picks. Is Kyle Williams better than Mingo?Yes I will wait and see if our 4th round trade darlings Lance and Mingo work out.
Didn't we do this with T. Frederick too? It's been a while, and my memory is not as good as it used to be. LOLHope we get a good trade down and still get a good player ala when we moved down and still got Micah.
Actually, it's very smart in this case.Nothing like giving away your game plan.
loooooooooooooolCan’t wait for them to move down, get hosed in compensation and rue whoever they miss
Problem is EVERY team after 2, outside of Chicago wants to bail. Good luck trading once and damn near impossible twiceGood to hear. The front office needs to trade down in the 1st round (preferably twice) and pick up extra Day 2 picks.
Exactly right, @Reality ! Well explained.Actually, it's very smart in this case.
You should not publicly announce you plan to try to move up in the draft, but if you are open to moving down, it makes perfect sense to announce it publicly.
One reason to do it of course is to simply let other teams know they have a potential trading partner should the player they want be available at pick #12.
Another reason, and the one that is quite smart, is that it makes all teams below them worry because all teams now know there is a pick available at #12 if a player they want is still available then.
Meaning, it may cause teams, especially those right after #12, to trade up just to make sure no other team snipes the player they want.
Even if no other team would end up doing it, the risk is there and that might drive teams to move up a few spots just in case giving the Cowboys one or two extra picks.
Time will tell. They still need to try to trade down twice. Lots of very good players will be available between picks #12 - #25. This makes it possible the Cowboys could trade down twice in the 1st round and pick up extra Day 2 picks.Problem is EVERY team after 2, outside of Chicago wants to bail. Good luck trading once and damn near impossible twice
What I do know is not to trust Jerry's judgement in these situations, especially when he goes around the process. What I do know is in both the Lance and Mingo situations their former teams gave up a lot to get these 2 players and in less then 2 years they wanted to be done with them. Trading them for a fraction of what they paid for them (and now to your point neither have show anything on game day or apparently to their former teams in camp or practice.Mingo has yet to play with a decent qb. You act like you know something about 4th round draft picks. Is Kyle Williams better than Mingo?
