Ehh lazy doesn't come to mind but cheap and bargain surely do.Any reference to Stephen Jones in any context should include the words “lazy” and “cheap”.

I'd say Giants ignore LB too...when's the last time they drafted a good linebacker? Seems like its been 20 years lol.
LOL. Did you just become a fan? They have had literally years to upgrade the FS and they refuse. Other than a flirtation with Earl Thomas, they have largely ignored any chance at real improvement at the FS position.
It takes a special kind of homer to defend what they have done at FS over the years.
Yeah it seems like our tight ends have field days against their linebackers. I know Jarwin seems to like them...Witten did too.....Good call. I could not think of a position for them but LB is a blind spot for them.
are you saying they have not upgraded FS out of spite or self sabotage?
They have to have an ace up their sleeve. A trade, a CB conversion, or Earl Thomas needs to happen.
No, out of misguided belief that the position isn't that vital and that in a capped world, FS is a position they can try to get by with using minimal resources (one can argue they approach DT in a similar fashion).
In their world, it's smart to pay a crap ton for a TB than make real improvements at S.
Oh of course they do. They don't value the position. Its clear. I'm just not sure if they should over other positions.....
And I'd assume there's no concern over Kazee or they wouldn't have brought him in. But I don't disagree they don't value the position. That's quite clear.
Knowing what they are trying to do defensively I don't know how they could go into the confidently go into the season with what they have at FS.
I would argue that FS is the most important position for us in this scheme.

Kazee is coming off a serious leg injury. We have no idea how good he's going to be if he can even play at all, frankly.
They have butchered FS for years. It's not just this draft. It's every draft. They clearly think FS is a position, like DT, they can throw some slop at and hope it works out........... year after year after year after year after year.
I guess the reason I include “lazy” is it doesn’t matter if this team wins or loses- his job security and growing fortune have no bearing on the team’s success. He can prop both feet on the desk and do literally nothing and it would not change his power position with this organization. Nepotism is alive and well at the Star.Ehh lazy doesn't come to mind but cheap and bargain surely do.
How many teams actually have top notch FS's? Out of those teams with top notch FS's, how many of them are as good as they are because the DL, corners, and LB'ers are are top notch?
It is hard to find an elite free safety because there are not many. You can pay for an older one, but it will break the bank, and if the rest of the defense is not good, it will be a waste.
Improving the corners, dline, and lb'ers will make a safety look better, not the other way around. If an above average FS fell into their lap, they would not turn it down
the injury isn't a career ender like in the past, these guys comeback from these injuries especially when they're young. We had people screaming for Hooker who's had even more injuries.
But there is no guarantee he'll be the same player. And he has a heightened risk of recurring injury in that foot.
He's the only true FS we have on the roster unless you think Wilson can play there.
Oh its for sure a prove it deal. I think its a prove it deal from his account though. I think the Cowboys would've signed him to a longer term deal. I thought Kazee was the one who preferred a prove it deal. There are times when that's not as evidence until that recovering player has hit the playing field again.
Chiefs were confident All pro safety Eric Berry would return to previous form from an achilles injury until the pads were on, stakes on the line and he had to take up
the task, until it became quite evidence after a time that he just wasn't gonna be the same pre-injury form.
And note that Kazee was only signed to a relatively cheap one year contract. Could that be a prove it rental deal ?
There is a wide chasm between having a truly elite S and what the Cowboys do every year which is slap crap on the wall and hope it doesn't smell.
I mean they have had really poor S play for years now and yet you seem to be defending their decision making. It's bizarre. Their priorities in building a roster are misplaced.
Well you put it that way....you're right.I guess the reason I include “lazy” is it doesn’t matter if this team wins or loses- his job security and growing fortune have no bearing on the team’s success.
