If you like a player that much - you draft him - I would rather be a loser in points then a loser in the draft. The falcons would of snatched Lawrence in a heartbeat.

The point differential when you are the "wantor" rather than the "wantee".

I'm sure the Commanders weren't desperate to trade the pick.

Yeah. Just kind of economics, really. It's unlikely you'll get the transactional win if you're the wantee.

For instance, it only costs whataburger 46 cents to make a burger, but I pay them $3.50 so I can eat it and, by god was it worth the $3.50 and more! So really it was me that won.

So what I'm saying is, yeah we may have overpaid, but that doesn't mean a fresh Demarcus Lawrence with cheese isn't delicious.

My analogy started to break down at the end. Apologies.

Why does this keep happening to us?

Seriously somebody please tell me what the hell Stephen Jones contributes to this organization???

That's what I was thinking, we overpaid by a ton.
Don't want to hear Dallas trade chart stuff because when we do the opposite and trade down, we also come up short.

I guess some people think there is one chart and every team uses it. I never understood this fascination with somewhat random guesses on unknown players. Give me a number, give me a metric. I need to know right now. I can't wait a couple of years for the real data to come in and judge properly.

People screamed and ridiculed Jerry for last year's trade ... until both Fredbeard and Williams proved all the experts and detractors wrong. We shall see.

I do have to admit at first glance it looked a little steep but then I thought about it. I look at it as we got roughly 2 each 1st rd picks for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick. If this guy from Boise State can play, it hardly even is worth a thought. And let's wait to see who we actually gave up from the players available with our former 3rd rd pick.

Last year we only get a 3rd rounder to move back half of the first round, this year we give up a 3rd rounder to move up 13 spots...... IN THE SECOND ROUND !!!!!

How are they gonna spin this one ????

move back 13 picks in the 1st round last year and only got back a 3rd from San Fran.

move forward 13 picks in the 2nd round this year and get bamboozled for a 3rd from Wash.

nobody has any issue with this huh??????

Bad analogy. You paid $5 for a $3.50 burger. You should have been able to get an order of fries for the extra $1.50.

Who cares about points here if Lawrence is a stud. If this guy is a beast are you really going to be like "i dont care hes turnin this defense around! we gave up 112 points in the 2014 draft!"

Yes, I have major issues with this, and will continue to call out the moronic managers who are running this franchise. Stick to selling jerseys and winning the marketing Super Bowl.

Yup, everyone in the NFL and every fan over the age of 10 knew Dallas needed a LDE and that Lawrence was the best one available. They had to overpay or watch Selvie play every snap this year.

Looks like some of our dline favorites will be there at 47. Will they and a third be as good as Lawrence? Clearly the Cowboys must not think so unless they are trading back into the 3rd.

Either Jernigan or Crichton will be there.
