Yes. I heard Wonderboy's interview earlier, just tossed out one bromide after another..."we were out-executed. We need to be more consistent if we are going to be the team we wannabe. We will get better...." (It's twelve minutes of my life I'd like back. Oy)
Yeah, he was saying "we have to be more consistent ". This isn't a consistency problem, it's a team structure problem.

We changed head coach, we got rid of OC, we ran off a couple of wide receivers...whose next?

If McCarthey's offense was made out of straws, I'd say he's grasping it for sure.

I get his position. This team built hope during the off-season and first two games. Coming off back to back 12 win seasons and with a defense that looked ready to step into the role of dominant.

Then we end up here again, failing miserably to measure up to the conference elite.

Looking at what we've built and seeing no answers on where to start is a hopeless feeling.

At least in the 80s we bottomed out and could build up. How does that happen now? First we'd have to make an actual effort to rebuild. Then we'd have to commit to it.
That’s been the problem, like you said when it appears we’re on the brink we end up here again. Every time they build up hope they end up here. If you read my posts after the first couple of games, I wasn’t sold on the team and it didn’t take long for them to be exposed against the Cardinals. We all thought they took the game off and didn’t show up but it appears what we saw against Arizona is what they are. When you bottom out for two straight seasons like we did in the late 80s and don’t have a QB it’s hard to build back up to a championship team. I do understand what you’re saying. It is frustrating always thinking we’re on the brink only to continue being exposed as a pretender rather than a true contender. I felt after back-to-back 12-5 seasons that if we didn’t get over the hump this year, we could be in for a very long bumpy road ahead. If the wheels start coming off at some point this season and we miss the playoffs we may be looking for a new HC, and possibly a QB change in the near future. That makes for a lot of uncertainty.

I should probably seek a therapist about how much I hate that entire family I've never met. Like, If I knew I could knock Stephen out with no repercussions, I'd do it. Don't quote me; I don't want to hear your opinion

Yup, and I have to wonder if Jerry's advanced age makes him less willing to blow it up and start over. Plus he always believes we are right there within reach.

The Cowboys certainly don’t need need to blow it up and start over. You only need to blow it up and start over when you’re picking number one overall in the draft or pretty close to it. When Jerry bought the team in 1989 he needed to blow it up and start over and that’s exactly what the Cowboys did. The team we have now isn’t full of holes, but we are starting to have an issue at QB and anyone who follows the NFL knows that can lead to major problems. The debacle we witnessed last night makes it painfully obvious the Cowboys are a long way off from being the team San Francisco is.

They have a physically and mentally tough team and it appears they hit the Powerball with Brock Purdy. He proved last night he’s way better than the QB we have. The new offense that was designed to help Dak isn’t working very well. The Cowboys have a lot of good pieces but Dak’s up and down play and inability to play well against championship caliber teams is becoming an issue. I do believe we made a big mistake moving on from Amari Cooper and our first two picks last April have been busts so far and losing Trevon Diggs has really hurt us.

what exactly has he grasped in 5 games this year? To not throw airballs downfield? To not throw into triple coverage? To not have troubles attaining 2nd and 3rd reads? To not hold onto the ball too long and take sacks? I am struggling to find one thing he's grasped, lol

The main reason I know Romo was a great QB was because I would defend him against most the trolls on message boards. I would never completely defend Dak. He's just not very good. Going back the past 2 years I stand by exactly what I've always said. He's as average as average can possibly be. Does nothing great at all and does very few things good. He's just a very average QB. Will never win you a game. He really needs things to fall into place.
