Please don't
You guys gave no idea what he is worth and will grossly overpay him
Let him play out the year and test the underpaid RB market then decide if you want to match or not

I'd be more apt to wait until later in the year. Injuries have been an issue with him and I wouldn't want to extend him this early.

Yeah I'm all for keeping Murray. At a good price. I do not want to pay him a huge salary because he's good but I feel you can get good backs pretty regularly for smaller deals. There is no reason to give him a big contract. Especially if you want to keep someone like Dez and want to keep your salary cap in good shape to where you can keep those good O-lineman you're finally investing in when the time comes to keep them.

I think he like any player he deserves a fair contract. I think we can get another back sure I don't think it is that easy to replace a quality RB a guy who can run, block and catch no that is not easy to replace.

4 Year 32 million dollar deal? Not out of the possibility.

No, not out of the possibility but then I don't want to hear Jerry say that he would love to sign some big name FAs but it just wouldn't be fiscally prudent.

I would be on board for a 4-year, $20 million deal.

If he gets Dez and Murray signed then he did put up big money on FA's they would just happen to be ours.

I'm referring to defensive FAs. Dez would be my first priority and then I (as GM) would focus on mid-level defensive line help in free agency.

Edit: I am referring to a DT to play the 1-tech.

There is something called the draft as well. We have some young guys on the DL right now maybe we should see how they grow and develop then maybe we get a clearer picture of where to look in upgrading of the defense.

That's not too bad really, for either side.

I'm really torn on this subject. I feel like backs aren't difficult to find... particularly when you have a good OL.

However, I really do like Murray and what he brings to the offense. I really like his demeanor too. Plays tough and has a bit of a mean streak.

So yeah, I'm just not sure. Getting hurt or not will play a big part in how I feel at the end of the season.

I'd like to see that contract but Jerry being Jerry I don't think they'll offer that one that low.

Probably somewhere between this and the 4 year/$32 mill suggestion.

No need for condescension; I do know about the draft.

If there is one thing I have learned about watching football for the past 30 years it is that you can never have enough quality lineman. The young guys would be the future but a little insurance, especially at the 1-technique, would be wise.

He doesn't need to sign any big name free agent.

My belief of free agency is that there is a reason why a player is there. Either 1) You have to overpay or 2) his previous team didn't want him anymore. No good comes out of overspending in free agency. So if it comes to spending that money on Murray or wasting it on a overrated player? I'd rather spend it on the guy I know will contribute. But I do think you should sign him to a contract to where if he does tail off it won't hurt you in the long run.

$8 mil a season?

Ouch!

Wouldn't shock me. If he continues what he's doing. If he's leading the league in rushing yards? I just can't see him accepting a 4 million dollar deal in the middle of his prime.

9.5 million this year for RB.

Ryan Williams says hello. He needs a new contract also, but signed for a half million on his one year contract with us this year and shouldn't have a big asking price for next year. We'll also have Randle, Dunbar and whoever else we bring in.

We could use the difference (say 8 million) to sign a free agent, like a safety or defensive end who is a stud. Or both.

Ask Seattle how much their #1 RB means to them. Some of y'all need to wake up! How do you win football championships? You run the Freekin ball, and you stop the run. Everyone and their mom is stuck on the throwing the ball 40-45 times a game, that doesn't win SB's...Look at Lynch and how much the entire team builds around his identity. That's what we need. Not some 180 LB. Reggie Bush wannabe. Y'all say Wilson is a bus driver? That's because he has Beast Mode as an engine!!! Let Romo drive the bus, and let Murray be the snow plow!!!!

How about a Sean Lee type of deal where pay is determined by health?

I would be less opposed to that if they reached a deal any time soon, but I'm not sure Murray would be as willing unless the incentives are pretty high.

Underpaid market? top RB are paid McCoy makes 9 mill a year Peterson of course make more than all the RB at 14 million a year, the position still hold value despite what some of you think. Talent gets paid that is the fact I don't care what position. Avg guys can be had at basement bargin price talent the thing that helps teams win the thing many of you claim we don't have cost money.

True, but there are so many good backs out there. It's not smart to overpay. Just about every team has a good running back, and they're in every draft.
