Stephen Jones: One of our goals is to draft a QB

Sure sounds like they don't expect Rush or Trey to return........they may surprise us and draft a day-2 QB to send a message to Dak
Cowboys have way too many holes and not enough draft picks to be wasting a draft pick on a QB. Stephen Jones knows that, so in reality, no pick will be used on a QB. Stephen Jones is simply saying that to appease all the Dak critics. Plus, the Cowboys immediately resigned Will Grier when the 2024 season ended, so it's not like there isn't a backup QB on the team at this point.

Agreed. They'll probably sign an UDRFA and roll with Grier, a familiar player.

Hoping to hit the lottery like the 49ers did with Purdy? Dak gets hurt, Purdy 2.0 steps in, Dak never plays another down for the Cowboys...???

Not the year to draft a quarterback need to build the offensive line and running game along with exhaust Prescott's contract.
Trade Parsons for draft capital to get a premium quarterback when one is available in the draft.

For once let's do this right and try to draft a quarterback in the first round.
Have the offensive line built hell for strong so he will be protected along with a power running game in place so he has every chance to build his game and succeed

You're right, we do have way too many holes. Dak's not the guy to take anyone to a SB, but it's a weak QB class this draft and we're stuck with Dak because of his contract. Might as well fill the other holes. It's likely this team is in for another bad season, so we should draft a QB NEXT draft. It's a smart move even if dumb Jerry remains stuck on thinking Dak can do it.

Eeek. Jacoby Brissett clone.

Much rather have Jackson Dart.

Ouch. I don't see any Jacoby in him. Also, I wouldn't say no to J. Dart even though he does remind me of Kenny Pickett, Trevor Lawrence, and Will Levis. All could have been highly productive with the right teams. Jalen needs time to sit and develop (making Dallas a good fit) but his ceiling is super high and he likely is available in the 2nd or 3rd round for the Cowboys. Milroe posted multiple TD runs last season where he was clocked at 21.9mph. He's an accomplished thrower with a talented arm who played at Alabama and faced the toughest competition in D1 ball. Jackson Dart has phenomenal ability and I'd love to have him in Dallas too, I just think he'll be off the draft board before the end of the 1st round.

Justin Fields ? .... isn;t that Trey Lance all over again ?
I hear you but I wouldn't go that far. Fields actually had the hot hand and was playing well for the Steelers while Russ was out, but once Russ was healthy and ready to play he got the starting job. Fields looked good though. Definitely better than Trey Lance but I agree with not going after him. I'd rather draft our guy and start fresh.
