And people may complain about it right now, that they are gone.

But for the most part many complained and complained about Clairborne and Carr. One could not stay healthy, the the other did not make plays.

Some wanted to keep Church and just as many were willing to let him go as they thought he would cost too much.

Many thought wilcox was always taking bad angles and or lost out there.

Heck I think the one that had the more liking him than the others was McClain and that was not a large majority of people mad that he was gone.

I was hoping we would get to see more of Awuzie this season so far, just to get a feel of how we think he will pan out.
I think we got a decent look at Lewis and I feel most believe he has a future here.

I think most feel about Heath now as they did at the start of the season..>He might make a play here and there but he should not be the starter.
Have to see more of X.Woods. He seems to flash here and there but at other times you can tell he is still a rookie that has missed time as he can get lost.

I imagine we will see more of Woods and Awuzie.

This should help us going into the next offeason/draft in seeing if we still need to work on CB or S.
You are on the mark, here. The grass is always greener on the other side...until it ain't...

We should have kept Church. I do think the Cowboys really believe that Marinelli is some type of genius that is able to make good players out of garbage.

guess other teams are making players out of marinelli's garbage?

let clairborne go while spending another high pick on a DB, fine.
you want to let church go, at least get another decent FA.
i cannot even remember the garbage pile S that was brought in and released.
what responsible person would do a complete turnover after 13-3 trusting rookies and questionable FAs.
this is a good case study for "sorry, your son is dead because he is stupid".

all true. most good organizations, draft or begin to fill roster spots the year prior to guys leaving for FA. They are proactive not reactive. Stephen does every contract, surely he could see he had 3-4 secondary players with expiring contracts, they knew they werent likely to sign. They could have been proactive prior to 2017 rather than a near total upheaval coming off 13-3. Alas, they weren't. Give the Jones' time, they will learn. It usually takes 30-35 years to learn how to run a franchise.

In a year eerily similar to 2015 after going 12-4 when a top RB was not kept because of a couple million and that anybody could get 1000 yards behind the Dallas OL,

That's exactly what happened though. It was a lot more than a few million dollars and then Dallas signed DMC for the minimum. He got 1089 yards rushing in only ten starts.

true he got 1000 yards, but the rushing game was no longer the identity and engine of the offense. that is why zeke was drafted.

if your scheme is prevent / 10 yards behind LOS, i dont know who can coach that into a reliable success. perhaps if you have 2 deions and 4 all-pro DL.

That would be bad coaching and not playing to your players strengths.

Isn't scheme a part of coaching? lol

It is a product of coaching. It is a tool coaches use to put their players in the best position to be successful. Scheme should not trump players strengths.

I think he does do that. I love him for the COACHING players up aspect. But I can’t stand his Xs and Os part on Sunday

ah, some of us did not want the complete risky turnover.

True, a complete overhaul with the plan to replace them rookies and Nolan Carroll.....not sure anyone wanted all that. I really would've liked to have kept church and let Heath walk. Also thought Claiborne might've turned a corner and would've been a reasonable signing $-wise.
The ironic bit is that we finally find a pass rush and we decimated the secondary so it doesn't matter.
I can tell you one thing, most of us saw the tragic hilarity of signing Nolan Carroll and then the FO acting like he didn't suck when they brought him in.
You have to pay someone. We just seem to usually be paying the wrong ones. Lord save us if we go and sign Byron Jones after his rookie contract is up.
