"Then he's not feeling the right vibes then, cause we feel strongly about him. We've worked hard to get a long dealwith him and we will continue to work hard to get a deal. If we dont get one then and we tag him it just shows how much we care about him and dont want to expose him to other teams."

Do you think players see the franchise tag as a bad thing?
"Ive said it before, its not like the tag is a bad deal, theyre getting alot of money day 1"

" we got a few weeks to figure this out, but i will say this...We think the world of Dez."

I posted this yesterday. I have a feeling a deal gets done before March 2nd. There was no news up until yesterday, only thing I got out of that was that they hadn't even spoken until that point.

I wish there was some real news about what is being offered versus what Dez's team is expecting.

Its def in the area of what was offered before. Cowboys probably want a longer deal. 7-8 yrs probably around 100-114mil i think the hold up is agreeing to how much guaranteed money.

The last offer that was reported was back in August it was a 10 year deal worth $114M with $20M guaranteed and a 5M signing bonus.

I don't like overpaying players. The only exception is the QB and he has to be WAY WAY too good to not overpay him…
Dez, my man, I love you and I really want to keep you here for life, but I love the Cowboys more and I want them to be able to be relevant than let us sit and enjoy watching a WR superstar with no defense to make his catches meaningful….besides..it's not like they are not paying him a lot….

That's one thing I admire about Belichick….it's a salary cap league now and I rather have young hungry WR than a very good one who looks at his salary as a status

This whole scenario is not surprising nor should it be considered bad - it's just business. I heard a guy today on The Herd say it was racist. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The remarks by Stephen this week and Dez's tweets in response are shots being fired over the bow. It's a typical negotiation and both sides are playing their cards with the public. Stephen is more calculating, Dez more emotional - as it should be.

Nobody really knows what the real offers are or how far apart they may be but the public posturing should in no way affect anything. I remember Emmitt's hold out was nasty, this in no way approaches that. I still think we will sign Dez and franchise Murray and we'll all be happier for it.

I am sure its all about the guaranteed money. 20mill is only like two years worth. If they can up it a bit, we can finish it.

They can get creative and guarantee the next year's salary every February 10th or something.

Guarantee 20m upfront and then another 10m every season after 2016. That would protect both sides.

actions speak louder than words.

pay the man who brought life back into this dead organization.

So Funny, I was about to post this same thing.

This Organization really had **** to cheer for. Dez comes along, he puts us on the map. The same way Romo did when he took over as QB.

who is that? Dez has been part of the 8-8 season as well. Dez is not bringing anything from the dead an overall better team is doing that which does include Dez and to be able to keep this team including Dez it will involve give and take by both the Cowboys and Dez.
