Dez said before the season he wouldnt be talking about his contract during the season. By the middle of the yr he starting flapping his gums. You cant help but love him on the field. But off the field you cant blame Dallas for trying to protect themselves from this guy.

But he's a heck of a cheerleader.

He's one of my favorite players. But in todays NFL anything outside of the field can get you suspended. Being a fan of the Dallas Cowboys takes over being a fan over any player.

Agreed. I went through it with Emmitt. Hated to see him leave but it was the right choice back then.

Even in our 8-8 days with Dez. We still had him to look forward to, and him improving.

When you venture outside of here, and go to most sports forums, most sports fans view Dez as our Best player. Period. They also view him top 3 at his position.

These same forums that would **** on him, and say that his true colors will show, that he will fall off, he's not that good ect ect. I seen a complete turn around. Some fans(Non cowboys fans) Even say disrespectful things like he's better than CJ.

I like Dez but this team as most contending teams is not 1 guy is a lot of guys stepping up and producing. You never see me claim Tony Romo is why we win, as important as QB is, it is still a job that depends on a lot of guys around him doing their jobs for him to have success. I want Dez signed but I will not give full credit to any one player as to why you win in what I consider to be the ultimate team sports. Many look to our 90's team with the triplets yet remove any of the 3 and I seriously doubt we win 3 SB titles. Irvin would still produce he was a great WR with passion and would put up number with or without Emmitt but it is not stats that win games it is teams. Pay Dez fair and Dez needs to be fair in this process as well, he will come out of this a wealthy guy either way but he is not carrying this or any team to a SB. Even CJ during his best season was not going to get Det to a SB and this is what we and other teams are trying to achieve.

I can name 5 men who are more important as a group and who brought back life to this organization. Smith/Leary/Fredrick/Martin/Free

Free is more important to this team than bryant. Got it.

Free alone? No that group as a whole you bet they have a lot to do with it. They give time to the QB to find his targets, they give time for WR to be able to get through their routs and they open holes for the RB. When they fail the offense will fail.

I'm a middle of the road guy with Dez. I want him here but not at the determinate of other positions. I still am a bit weary of his maturity.
As far as his sideline act? I really don't care. And when watching games and they put it on camera, it doesn't look like any one else does either.

See I am the complete opposite. Bryants talent doesnt come around often, replacing him would not be easy at all. You lose Dez our offense looks atrocious next season. Period. There is no way around that. If we kept Murray and let go of Dez, we wouldnt win more then 5 games next year. He takes so much attention from the defense that it helps the run game, you take him away, who do they double cover? TWill? LOL.

Considering TWill has trouble beating single coverage I don't want to see what he looks like with two guys on him lol.

But I agree with you about the offense. It's not like GB's where the system plays a great role in helping the WR's get open. Jordy Nelson is so wide open sometimes it blows my mind. He's just as fast as Dez and he doesn't have a guy near him on many occasions. The Cowboys offense is predicated on talent and beating your man one on one. It's why I am amazed at Dez's production these past few years because this offensive system has done the receivers no favors.

If Dez does leave, I would assume the Cowboys would draft another guy or maybe pursue Cobb. But if they trot out a rookie, with TWill and Beasley...l don't know about anyone else but that makes me feel uneasy.

maybe you should read a little harder. As i put the 5 men as a whole. Meaning the OL is more important than Dez.

oh so it was just irrelevant to this thread. Now i understand. Youre pushing some unknown agenda.

Sorry I just don't see the team folding at the loss of Dez.

"Then he's not feeling the right vibes then, cause we feel strongly about him. We've worked hard to get a long dealwith him and we will continue to work hard to get a deal. If we dont get one then and we tag him it just shows how much we care about him and dont want to expose him to other teams."

Do you think players see the franchise tag as a bad thing?
"Ive said it before, its not like the tag is a bad deal, theyre getting alot of money day 1"

" we got a few weeks to figure this out, but i will say this...We think the world of Dez."

Should they get a room?

Then you my friend are the eternal optimist, take away 16 touchdowns this season, where would we have ended up? Oh, and now stack 9 in the box every single game.

So we would lose Dez, sign no one to make up part of his production and bam we just suck? Not buying it.
The box was stacked with nine most of the season. Teams knew we were a run first team. That's what made our running game so remarkable.

I want Dez back as much as anybody, but to say we'd win no more than 5 games is laughable.

If we lost Dez (which isn't happening btw), you don't think the team would attempt to replace him?

No player is bigger then the team. Besides, Since when is 10 million a year chump change? Hire someone to manage your money play the game for 5 more years and live happily ever after. End of story.

Ok. Let's just hash this out. Who can we put in a wr1 role that will do what dez has done for us? Cobb? A draft pick? And yes I am serious. Without dez and the defense he commands and the openings he gives the other receivers we wouldn't have won more then 5 games.
