He was making good decisions with the football his Freshman, Sophomore and Junior seasons as well....

Take a look at his stats. He Sophomore and Junior seasons had posted QB ratings of: 134 and 117...

Yes....

McGee is without a doubt in my mind the one QB in the later rounds that has a chance to develop into a starting QB in the NFL, IMHO.

McGee definately does have issues, but he is as tough as they come, and is a pretty good athlete. He also has all the physical tools to be a #1 NFL QB. Playing in a run only offense at college definately didn't help his development at QB, so he will need some time. But he is a MUCH better prospect, IMHO than Rhett Bomar, who I was really hoping we would not tough, he is a terrible QB. He has all the tools, but has done NOTHING with the talent that he has. He couldn't even light it up in FCS, and was only the 3rd best QB in his conference.

Speaking for myself, I was high on him before the draft, when he had the chance of being drafted by any of the league's 32 teams.

I had hoped the Cowboys would draft him and they did.

I think he has the necessary skillset and qualities to develop into a good pro quarterback.

And yet, most every draft board I saw had McGee rated as a 3rd or 4th round prospect...

At least when the Pats drafted Cassell who had no body of work, they got a guy who worked under Norm Chow in pro style offense.



Don't be ridiculous, NOBODY is saying he's gonna contend for a starting spot this year... at least, nobody with a lick of sense... McGee won't even be the Cowboys' number 2 QB this year...

IF he becomes a starter, it will be some years down the line...

They don't seem to be overly high on him just know that he has raw talent that the Cowboys staff likes. Its you who thinks a pos qb that went undrafted can beat a 4th rounder with talent.

I guarantee that most of the people who say Orakpo is overrated wouldn't have the same opinion of him had he not been drafted in our division.

I'm pretty much on the fence with McGee. I know he was highly recruited coming out of High School I would have like to have seen more from him while at A&M

It's hard for me to comment on a player I've never seen play, I just hope he has something to bring to the table unlike the Henson's of the world.

I do know this though, if this guy shows anything in pre-season at all, or happens to have a GREAT pre-season, Romo will definitely step up his game for fear of the unknown, and that's always a good thing when pressure is on a person to perform.
