Bills rule.
3rd year's a charm when it comes to drafted players.

dcfanatic;3509713 said:McGee has shown zero progress as far as what I see.
Example.
The guy is known as 'Check Down' McGee.
So on the one play where the Cowboys are nursing a 2 point lead late in the game and it's a 3rd and long he decides to take an 11 yard sack instead of doing what he always does and checking it down...

Just unload the ball into the turf in front of the RB who slid past the LOS!
The last thing you do there is give the opposing team another 11 yards so they are that much closer for the game winning FG.

Stautner;3510502 said:Of course, what fans tend to forget sometimes is that we aren't the one's he has to show something to. The coaches not only see the game situations, they are more in tune with all the factors contributing to his success or failure in those situations,k and they see him in practice everyday. It is not only possible, but certain that they see things we don't.
Doomsday101;3510508 said:I agree I'm just saying I don't think his job is as safe as some think it may be. Would I be shocked or upset if McGee were released? No I would hope we could bring him back to the PS if not then I'm sure Dallas will look to someone else to bring to the PS at QB.
I think all the players have to show it to the coaches not the fans be it McGee or Jason Williams but we all will have our own limited view of these player and who we think may have a better chance than others.
Stautner;3510512 said:I'm not saying I would be shocked if McGee got cut, and honestly I would be fine with him being on the practice squad if he can clear waivers.
Doomsday101;3510521 said:I'm pulling for him but has yet to do much to make me stand up and say he is legit. I hope he can show that over the next 2 games.

I would try to get him on the PS.....and if we lose him.....oh well....Its not a big loss IMHO
Stautner;3510591 said:I just don't know that he is going to have enough opportunites to show that this year. He also may not be ready. It's part of having a project.
I'm not talking about you specifically, but people in these threads keep talking about understanding that he is a project, but not understanding why he doesn't look hot yet.

I disagree. Part of being a PROJECT in his 2nd season is to show improvement from the previous one. The progress can't take forever, but there is no set in stone rate of progression.[/quote]Doomsday101;3510598 said:But part of being a guy in his 2nd season is to show more than he has. I still think he has to show some true skill plays over the next 2 game to secure a spot. I'm not expecting him to go out and put up big numbers but I do expect him to show more than he has.

Hell, part of being long time veterans like Romo and Kitna is to show more than they have. If our overall offense has sucked that much with those guys, why should we expect a whole lot from the 3rd string guy surrounded by the bottom barrel supporting cast?
Doomsday101;3510604 said:By the time the RB got to a check down spot the defenders were already on top of him. I have some doubts with McGee but not because of this play. If anything he did the right thing in taking a sack instead of throwing it up for grabs.
Doomsday101;3510598 said:I think he has to show more than last year and right now I don't see much different from last year. Romo did have problems but in his 2nd year he also showed ability to make some plays. I want to see McGee make some plays when things are breaking down to go outside the box and create Tony did show that.
Stautner;3510605 said:I guess we aren't going to agree on this, which is fine. I'm not saying I feel good about McGee's progress, but I do think he has overall looked better this preseason than last. For me, I want to give him the rest of this preseason, and then at least part of the next one.
