"You're changing a culture. You change when you change the leadership," Jones said. "And certainly we like stability. That's why we stayed with Jason for 10 years and we know these things don't happen overnight in terms of when you turn things around. You throw on top of it that we had an unprecedented environment with the virus and Mike and his staff weren't able to have interactions with the team other than virtual. There's challenges out there but there's a lot of other new staffs that have had the same challenges. You throw that in there, then you throw the injuries that we've had to work with and certainly it's been a big challenge. We'll continue to go to work every day and improve as a football team."

Number of Dallas Cowboys head coaches pre-Jones ownership (29 years) - 1
Number of Dallas Cowboys head coaches post-Jones ownership (31 years) - 8

But, they like stability. It seems that the only stability that they like begins and ends with the Joneses remaining in charge of football operations. And failing miserably.

It'd be ironic if Dak demands a $40 mil contract for 4 years, then, we end up retaining GG as our starting QB. So much for continuity!!

Gilbert did more than anyone expected yesterday, but "retaining GG as our starting QB" doesn't sound like an ideal Plan B.

Anything can happen if he starts looking like a world-beater, if and when he's retained over Dalton. Nothing against Dak, though!.

Anything can happen -- especially if he starts looking like a world-beater in the event he's retained over Dalton. Nothing against Dak, though!.

Gilbert was drafted in 2014. The Cowboys are his 8th team. "Anything can happen" is an overused expression.

Gilbert could make a nice back up, though.

So people on this forum are upset because Stephen says, they have no plans to move on from Dak and Mcarthy. However these same people feel that if the front office drafts Lawrence, it’s the correct thing to do and it’s Super Bowl here they come. So I guess a top draft pick will fix all the ills of last 26 years.
Like, totally.

That certainly has occurred to me, as well. I'm just taking all the possibilities into consideration.

If GG continues to look like fate has destined him to remain a C'boy, I certainly wouldn't object!

Ugh...this is the last thing I wanted to hear I haven't liked McCarthy at all here.

Absolutely, because he's had such a long time to prove himself under the best of conditions! :lmao:
Fans calling for McCarthy and Co. to be canned after all that happened are not being realistic. Not disagreeing with those that didn't like the hire in the first place; just that circumstances in this current season do not prove he can't do the job...yet.
