Stephen thinks Prescott is one of the best QB's

Seriously? My point was it takes a whole team and that includes QB. There were many threads on here about how Dak was better than Jalen even up to the start of this past season. Cowboys had some pretty good teams early on in Daks time. Would other QB's do as well as Jalen this year? Maybe but would they have have demolished Washington and then KC any more in the playoffs/SB? How many more points would they have put up? Elite or not I don't see any of those guys doing better.

Anyone who thinks Hurts is the weak link on that team maybe should re-think it. Jalen outplayed Mahomes in SB 57 statistically and Mahomes looked pretty pedestrian in SB 59. No QB is winning without talent and good coaching.

Last season the Eagles also had a "stacked" roster but after winning close games week in and out it fell apart. Same thing for the Cheifs this season. They just made it further but finally got exposed in the SB.

Is Hurts as talented as Mahomes, Allen, Jackson and Burrow? Probably not but results vs stats mean more. Jalen is still pretty young and has room to get better.
Yeah,
Creeper might need to peek at this post.
But I'm right there with ya brother.

I don't disagree. But Do you think Mahomes chocked? Or did the Eagles defense shut him down?
A little from column A, a little from Column B. It was a different kind of choke than what Dak does though. At least Mahomes did enough in the playoffs to even get to the big game.

I doubt he really believes that at this point. After the contract they gave him just months ago they really can't say anything else at this point. They are married to Dak at minimum through the 2025 season, and likely 2026.

The reality is Dak has had a very good NFL career, and has had a couple of seasons where he has been a tier 2 and borderline tier 1 QB. The flip side of that is he doesnt project as a guy who will age well in this league getting into his 30s, I think we saw some of that last year (even if we want to point to scheme, supporting cast, etc. the actual film on Dak wasn't pretty), and now he is coming off a pretty serious leg injury.

They brough in Schottenheimer because he is the ultimate Dak friendly guy. He is familiar with Dak he, he like to run the football, and his OC pick supports what he has said publicly about offensive balance. I'm still very skeptical on this team for 2025, largely because I struggle to see Dak rebounding without serious spending this offseason by the Cowboys, but they are right at least in their philosophy Schotty brings even if we mostly dont love the hire.
Borderline Tier 1?

Prescott can be one of the best when he has powerful weapons and a defense that can put him in advantageous positions . However, other QBs can do the same under those circumstances.

Dallas should have another QB on a rookie contra t that is capable of competing for a starting position. Prescott has been really comfortable his whole career. Jones finds a starter and calls it a day for about ten years.

Nothing makes a player better than competition.

One thing that gives me hope is Daks 2nd best season was coming off the gruesome injury in 2020. He will be motivated by all the hate he is getting.

Stephen said he was better than Mahomes, Brady and Roger. He's dak good. I see super bowls in the Cowboy's future with this guy calling shots.

When it came time to re-sign Dak, they overpaid him horrendously.

After that, they covered it up by claiming he's an elite quarterback.

After setting their overstated claim, the die was cast from then on.

A coward? Lol! I'm 58 years old, I can barely walk. Didn't get to finish my career because of multiple knee, ankle and shoulder surgeries. 4 broken bones, torn ligaments in my right shoulder, multiple left shoulder dislocations, 3 concussions, complete ankle reconstruction, within the next few months I'll need 2 knees replacements and spinal fusion surgery....I guess I was a coward in the minds of some ignorant fans that sat up in the stands, eating popcorn and spewing out stupid comments.....tough talking fans....lol! Coward? Put a little extra butter in your popcorn....that's what real men do.
Do you spend your afternoons sitting in the park shooing away the pigeons that are trying to crap on the statue of you the town folk put up?

Straight up ... no. More of a non-stop.

At those price ranges there really is a lot of applied study to the art. The failure at this level of a corporation is not done stupidly. Fans carry along that conception.

Government now first does away with the janitors...that can't be hidden as well.

Football is still competitive...even in Dallas and with Jerry.

No, I spend my days with my 89 year old father....unfortunately, doesn't look good, recently. My statues butt is always clean, because the haters keep kissing it. Thanks for that, but please put on some shap stick next time.

My prayers for both you and your Father. :starspin:

Dak Prescott has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and was a runner-up for the NFL MVP award in 2024.

Pro Bowl

  • Dak Prescott has been selected to the Pro Bowl in 2016, 2018, and 2023. In 2023, he was named a Second-Team All-Pro and led the NFL in passing touchdowns.
Wasn’t he like the 6th alternate in 2018 because other QBs didn’t want to play

So I guess that means Cooper Rush is a super ultimate leader, since the team plays no different, and sometimes better with him under center.

I was reading an article in local newspaper this morning on Cowboys are among NFL teams looking to end title drought.

The nut of the story was do any of these teams have a QB which can take them there.

Stephen was very outspoken. Even saying a great QB is how you win in this league. And said if Prescott isn’t the best, he’s one of the best and ultimate leader.

And have to continue trying to put the pieces around him adding I know our fans aren’t going to believe until we get the job done.

Of course we don’t believe. Few Cowboy fans believe Prescott is the best or one of the best QB’s in the league. Is he enough to build around, maybe .Doubtful at this point. But who believes our FO and coaching staff can get that done.
I know you gotta back your guys, I get it. However, at this point, any and all credibility from Jerry and Stephanie has been thrown out the door. No one believes them anymore. And now they are squawking even louder because they are finally starting to see the writing on the wall. Fans have given up on those 2. No one believes they can do it anymore. Hades, even the tiny number of fans who still support them sound hollow, I doubt if they even believe themselves.

J n ST have used up all their ammo. They're now tossing cowpatties at the enemy.

At this point I have very little doubt that Prescott will be here for 13 years without reaching an NFCCG.

That’s not a slight to him as much as an indictment of the FO for not recognizing what he is and isn’t, and like many other situations, they misevaluate due to rose color glasses and/or believing that they can talk things into existence.
Now that is a riot, and is exactly what they do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
