Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on @SASportsStar: “I do think this can be a quick fix, but at the same time, we also gotta understand this is a work in progress. I love the culture and DNA on this team still.

“I think our defense should just keep getting better. The offense did a lot of good things and I think they’ll continue to get better as well.

“I’d be the first to admit that I was very surprised and disappointed (by the season opener), but also believe that this team has a bright future.

8 new starters on the defense may take time to gel.

Giants had about that many new starters on defense along with all new coaches, including the HC and they were going against a much better offense than our defense was going against.
