If they wanted to hide him they would play him and let him throw 4 picks. Trey Lance has been on 2 NFL teams and couldn't beat the backup out on either.

He's practicing for when he takes over. Things aren't going to be different when Jerry's gone. I don't think Lance is an NFL qb but there is no reason not to play him.
