Stephen wants to bring all of our UFAs back

All due respect Runwild….. they won’t add more. Other than draft picks. They’ll use resigning OSA and others as an excuse to not bring any free agents from outside the team.

Rinse, repeat.
I know they won't, but they wouldn't improve on these players if they let them go either.

Re-signing Odig and Dowdle concern me, because they may be asking enough to ensure that they have to be starters. I like both players as rotation players, but if signing them prohibits us from trying to improve their positions, I'd rather move on.
Osa is starting wherever he goes unless an all pro is already there lol

I agree all those players should be resigned. The issue becomes, does Jerry overpay?

There are only so many holes that can be filled in the off season. Reducing that number as much as possible is the right thing to do.

This is just another example of the clown show run organization. It just never ends.
I don't get this comment at all. Every team in the NFL tries to retain their own free agents. Not just the Cowboys.

So is every other team an example of the clown show also?

I don't disagree with you, other than the All-Pro part ... I think there are several non-All-Pros that are on other defenses that are on Osa's level. And that's my problem with Osa, that he is a good, solid player when we need a stud at 3-tech. If Dallas re-signs him, then we'll continue our history of undervaluing the position IMO. I think we need to keep searching instead of settling. You don't find a Chris Jones, Dexter Lawrence, Quinnen Williams, etc., by settling for the Osas of the league.

Funny sentiment when the prevailing claim is that the Dallas Cowboys “draft really well”
OL they do. Other than that, it's a crapshoot. But I was actually referring primarily to FA. We can't fill every need through the draft.

Nothing wrong with those particular players. Just need to add more.
Yup, those 4 have shown they contribute. Obviously we need some more via draft and free agency, need people healthy, but some have shown improvement after playing time, will help for next season.

My reading of his comments is, we want them back, but not if we have to pay them.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones when asked on @1053thefan about trying to re-sign soon-to-be free agents like DT Osa Odighizuwa, CB Jourdan Lewis, DE Chauncey Golston and RB Rico Dowdle:

“We want them back. They’ve shown that they are Dallas Cowboys football players. They’re certainly guys we want to have back, it’s just making all the calculus work when it comes to fitting everybody under the salary cap.”

Psychological warfare, pressurising the players, rather than them get a bigger contract on the market.
It's also an acknowledgement that we aren't going to be active in free agency.

It's pretty evident most Jerry detractors on this website are worse football guys than him. Anytime I see a fix the roster scenario it's filled with pipedreams. If they don't resign those players who replaces them? I'd love to hear clear and direct answers

But this is where we fail, and fail big. We like our guy's, can't afford market prices.... and we can't evaluate projections for the future. What's our recent success on these type of extensions?

He's telling you they want them back because they don't plan on changing anything in FA.

And guess what? For example, Golston is a JAG. Let him walk and try to find a better DT.
They have not done that in years. So I doubt that will change.

What I don’t understand is the complete over-valuing of what a player gives you here in Dallas. If you keep the same players who gave you 1 wild card win in 5 years, why should we expect more than what they’ve already shown us?

The SJ quote above just reinforces what many of us have seen for far too long. The front office here is not putting a championship as the absolute priority. The real priorities are “relevance” and profits. Because if winning a championship was the absolute #1 priority here, changes would have been made at the top a long time ago.
