Ok well if they don't have any plans to add another CB and one of our top 3 gets hurt we'll see who is right and who is wrong.

Our 5th TE will be a lot of help to us I'm sure.

Of course, it hasn't been proven that we're keeping 5 TE's yet.. so this post is just MORE whining for the sake of whining.

Listen, instead of us continuing to go back and forth with this.. how about we all just WAIT AND SEE what the final roster looks like before we commence with all the crap about how the organization doesn't have a clue and all the other played out cliches that we hear every year.

That sound fair?

Again, maybe we bring Moore back after the first week.. we don't even know what the plan is yet, so whining about it now is just pointless.

They aren't. I'll take Catch running my team over our GM and the VP of Personnel. They are mere fans too and they've shown they don't know what they're doing.

Garrett coaches the talent. Those two acquire it. I think there are a few dozen posters on these boards I'd hand the keys to the franchise to over what we have now.

You can make that kind of statement with people who earned their positions and performed to keep it. Not bought it and held it hostage.

Sounds good though.

So you feel since JG took over, he and his staff haven't had a say in the talent we've aquired?

You also don't feel our drafts and overall talent aquisition hasn't gotten better since JG took over?

I have no doubt..

Lol who is evaluating these guys then?

We'll regret this move unless we have something else lined up.

Agree, we just jumped from the frying pan into the fire. What are those guys thinking about. It better be good.

I think they can influence the people making personnel decisions but I do not think they make them.

I don't know if it's improved. If it has, it's been marginal. There isn't a person in that building I trust to tell me who can play.

You don't know if its improved? Look at our last few drafts and tell me they haven't been better. There's ALOT of good young talent on this team right now..

Yes, last year's draft class has been an abundance of riches.

And on the pro side, who can argue with the free agent bonanza last year?

Well, the trade up for Mo was disappointing to me, but overall since JG took over i don't think there's any question the talent on this team has improved alot.

I don't get at all why this is a shock. You want solid players throughout the roster, not a jack of all trades.

I honestly hadn't paid enough attention to the preseason games to notice 6 different safeties out there. Then again, I shut the games off at half most of the time figuring that most of the guys playing the 2nd half wouldn't be on the team.

what is the baseline for this talent acquisition? if it is the 2009 draft, then yeah - it couldn't get worse. 12 whiffs. But last year was pretty bad. It was a FA and Draft for defense completely devoted to Rob Ryan who was dumped and a new scheme was implemented.

6 safeties and only 4 corners. Head scratcher there. And claiborne missed the entire preseason.

Do all the experts here realize this 53 is temporary? There will be pickups from other teams which means someone who is on there now will be cut. So why freak out now - wait and see what we got to play vs the Giants.

There isn't one player who has been cut so far I will think twice about

The head scratcher for me was keeping both Danny McCray and Eric Frampton. Six safeties on the roster is overkill. Are the Cowboys going to activate all six for a game? If not, it's a waste of a roster spot. Possibly, Frampton gets cut when they pick up somebody else off waivers.

Also thought they'd keep Kevin Kowalski over David Arkin. But that's pretty much a wash.

I don't know ... from the pros on the forum, I'd have made out Kowalski to be a future All Pro Center.

Notice how poor STs was? McCray, Frampton, and this Edgar Jones guy they traded for are all STs guys. Frampton can play a little S too. McCray and Jones (at least so far in his career) are position players in name only.
