To a point. But if we have Carter, Durant and McClain available at LB to stop McCoy, that forces Foles to attack us by air. They've always had smaller receivers which our guys play better against, other than Cooper who seemed to take advantage of Claiborne often....but I think Moore will do a better job. And the safeties are getting better on their angles and tackling (other than the second half of the last game for some reason). Scandrick is playing solid and Carr better than last year. I think we'd have a really good shot at keeping their O to under 20 points

Good point

That's very good to hear because it's always been the complete opposite. Dallas was always a very talented team but you never knew what you were gonna get. The defense could shut you down one week and give up 50 points the next. The offense could lay an egg one week and break records the next. This year it's different. Look at the defense. The talent isn't really there like it has been in the past. In the past, you had a lot of names and not a lot of team. You could point out players and say "he's good, he's a Pro Bowler, he's an All Pro", but that's where it stopped. Now, you might not even be able to name 75% of the guys on defense, but you know they're gonna show up to play. I almost trust them more. I don't know how they're gonna play well because I don't know who's who, but I know they will play well. That's a first in Dallas.

Even 3rd and 1's have me getting cocky with this running game. Just "feels" like we got it (no LBs shooting gaps to drop the RB in the backfield)

Carter also seems to play the Eagles well where he can use his speed to to counter McCoy and the bubble screens outside.

I don't have a link because I saw it on "The Aftermath" today on the NFL Network.

Basically, after watching highlights of the Dallas/Houston game and the Philly/St. Louis game, Wyche said (and I am paraphrasing): "Both The Cowboys and The Eagles are sitting atop the NFC East at 4-and-1, but I feel better about Dallas because only one of those teams has an identity. When you are going to play Dallas, you know what you're going to get. They're going to come in and pound the ball. They're going to be more physical than you on both sides of the ball. I'm not sure what Philly is."

They go on to talk about how the Eagles don't have an identity, how what they were doing on offense last year that worked, isn't working this year.

I watch NFL am often and be always bashes Dallas. He's not a real reporter to me. He just follows whatever the trend is

Crazy change of observations in the NFL eh?

Week to week.

The first chance they get they're going to be saying how Jeezy is not a good coach, Jerry is a bad GM, Dallas is mediocre, hasn't been to the playoffs in a century, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I'm not the one. What they can do for me is just report and critique the results of the LAST game and holla back after Thanksgiving.:starspin:

Eagles can't keep winnig on ST's & Defensive scores. Sooner or later they really will need their offense to step up. But in the mean time, as mentioned, they keep winning.
Their OL may be their reason why the offense is in dissarray and if that gets fixed, maybe they get back to last years offense. But I think that they take a step back on that, even if the OL gets fixed.

Best Scenario, Giants beats the Eagles this weekend, and of course if we beat the Seahawks. But if the giants can win, the worse is we all are tied for 1st place, then we have the Giants at home.

Is this really true on the defensive side of the ball?

I'd prefer that we stay under the radar. We don't need to eat the cheese!

The last thing this team needs is praise and some manifest destiny from the media.

What they need is to fly under the radar more and continue with their blue-collar mentality.

As soon as they start changing things to meet expectations..

they are done.

Seen that happen year after year.

I think the biggest challenge for this team right now is to block out the noise and continue to improve.

Garrett has his hands full with that and in the past, he's had problems getting the best out of this team in times of crisis.

That's dead ahead.

We'll see

I truly believe that the East is Dallas's to lose. It's CLEAR that the Eagles aren't what they were last year. Defenses aren't as caught off guard as they were in 2013. Teams aren't scared to stack the box and challenge Nick Foles to beat them through the air, cuz guess what- he can't. They've been EXTREMELY fortunate these past 2 weeks with all of the non-offensive TD's they've had. But that well will dry up quickly.

I do think the division is still going to come down to us vs Philly, but I don't see how anyone could possibly say that they're the more complete team.
The Cowboys aren't perfect, but I think you're definitely right.

The Eagles miss D Jax more than they'd probably like to admit and have a terrible OLine. Foles has come back down to earth and their defense is still meh.

I don't believe in the Giants for one single second. They beat WAS, HOU, and ATL, three terrible teams. They have Philly, DAL, SEA, SF, and DAL as their next 5 games. We'll know what they are at the end of that stretch, and I wouldn't be surprised if they lost all 5 of those games and took themselves out of the running.

They have certainly looked physical to me. With Claiborne out of the lineup, we don't have a single player on the defense that won't come up and hit you. Even the smaller-framed Brandon Carr and Orlando Scandrick will stick their nose in there.

What's funny is both the Eagles and Giants have to play our boys twice still. They can look good against Commanders, Raiders, Jags, Falcons etc. But wait till they hit this big freight train in Dallas.

Philly schedule is getting tough now, no more Jags and sorry teams. After their bye they could possibly lose every game left on their schedule.

NYG they always play good when Coughlin is threatened to be fired
