Do you guys think Steven will change anything if and when he becomes the GM of the Cowboys? If you think it will be different, in what way?

He will surely want to shape his own legacy, but what idea's he has or if they will fail or not is another question.

Until a jones isn’t related to jerry, I don’t see any significant changes. He has all of his family under his thumb.

I answer this question a dozen times a year, it seems.

Here's my answer. Why would he not act as the GM? Because he's not qualified? Well, isn't he just as unqualified to be the Director of Player Personnel for this team? He's been that for many, many years. I don't see him stepping down. He seems to enjoy it.

Absolutely nothing will change in the structure other than maybe his Director of Player Personnel might not be a blood relative. He will be the GM. The active GM. Whether he'd be any worse or better than Jerry I have no idea but both are complete frauds and cancers to this football team.

It’s probably not going to change much.

Jerry is only GM in name only. Dallas has employed a committee approach to roster building for quite some time and I doubt that changes.

They still run with this.

Hey, you know that power thing Jerry's obsessed with and refuses to lose? Turns out he doesn't even use it! He's led around by the nose by his underlings.

They paint the picture they want to see.

I know there is some truth to their claim, but I'm ready for the veil to be lifted and a real GM hired. Jerry wants credit if the Cowboys eventually win. I'm hoping Stephen is more worried about the team winning than taking credit for anything.

Jerry doesn’t run the draft. That’s Will McClay’s board. Jerry doesn’t even travel nearly as much as he used to during the draft process.

Jerry doesn’t run the cap. That’s Stephen’s job, Jerry would interefere(Deion) but he doesn’t seem to do that nearly as much.

He seems like his father but with less shrewdness. I don't think he'll be any less of a hands on guy and will probably lose just as much.

Every GM on the planet has a director of scouting responsible for putting together the draft board and a cap man. This isn't being powerless. This is having a staff under you. He is the ultimate decision maker and uses that authority on a yearly basis. He is not some yes man being led around by those he employs.

You want to believe that but I know better.

If Steven Jones ends up being a clone of his father, it pains me to say I will not live to see the Cowboys win another championship..
